It’s been a hot minute (18 months!) since my last workshop. This one will be limited to just 12 to keep it small and intimate 🙌 12pm Saturday 13th June at @folkspace__ This workshop is for those that are interested in learning ancient yogic techniques to improve health & wellness. It’s designed to empower you with breathwork tools you can actually take home and use in your everyday life. Pranayama (breathwork) is one of the 8 limbs of yoga and an incredibly powerful tool that has been used by yogis for centuries. Different breathwork techniques can be used to achieve specific outcomes such as relaxation, stress reduction, managing anxiety, increasing energy, promoting balance within the body, increasing longevity & focus, concentration & clarity of thought. Over three hours together we’ll explore: • A brief history & overview of pranayama • The science behind breath • How to complete a breath capacity test, for yourself & others • 4 Key breathwork techniques • How to utilise different breathwork apps at home + A beautiful printed booklet with all of your new knowledge and practices ! We’ll specifically be focusing on: 1. Breathwork for balance & stress reduction 2. Breathwork for focus 3. Breathwork for physical relaxation, prana flow & energy clearing 4. Hello 👋 Lots of new faces here so thought I’d take the opportunity to introduce myself and share some of my story and what this page is all about ✨ For the six years leading up to July last year I was working full time in a corporate job that I had lined up before even finishing uni. Eventually I could no longer continue working from home post-Covid and didn’t want to move back to Sydney for the job so decided to leave. When I gave my notice at work I lined up a yoga residency to live a yogic lifestyle and teach yoga classes at @govindavalley @heartandsoulretreat 🧘‍♀️ I’d already had two teacher trainings completed the previous year and a personal yoga practice of 10+ years. My intent was to teach a few months worth of classes and then come home. What was meant to be three months quickly turned into eight months and what was meant to just be daily classes ended up being two certifications in Pranayama & Meditation Teacher Trainings. The ashram lifestyle helped me reset my nervous system and life in so many ways: early nights and early mornings, giving up coffee, incorporating a daily breathwork & meditation practice into my routine, establishing a strong sadhana 🌿 There were women’s circles, bonfires, camping adventures, hikes, ecstatic dances, cacao ceremonies, tarot readings, full moon circles, yoga workshops, yoga classes & of course plenty of experience teaching my first hatha, yin & yoga nidra classes as well as various workshops. There was also the nightly chats, laughter and pouring my heart out to the best ever roommate @yoga_andjo who put up with sharing a room with me for most of this time 😂 Obviously it wasn’t all unicorns and rainbows: sometimes living in community and sharing space with the same 30 people constantly can be incredibly tough. Volunteering and the same routine each day need to be seen with fresh eyes. But what the experience taught me most was what is really important: (quality) time, relationships, health, life, living your dharma, personal & spiritual development. The intent of this page & business is to pass on the teachings that helped me so much during my time at @govindavalley 🌻❤️

Getting totally open and transparent with pay, because this is the post that would have helped me most when I stepped into teaching. No messaging teachers I barely knew hoping they were happy to discuss their hourly rates. This is a breakdown of a pretty regular week with just yoga classes at standard rates (ie no events/retreats/workshops). Hoping this helps someone else who is starting teaching/considering a career in yoga teaching. Also breaks down why around 20 classes a week is considered full time: that’s well over 40 hours of work! #ytt #yogateaching #perthyoga

Story time: when I worked in corporate, my second day was at our annual conference. Each year they had a different motivational speaker. I remember so clearly the first one - a hiker from QLD who was one (or maybe the first) Australian to climb Everest. He told this long captivating story about how he almost died on a multi week hike, he lost several toes to frostbite, had been days without food, and was very close to death. His hiking partner turned to him when he thought it was the end and said “this situation could be worse - we could have desk jobs”. It stuck with me forever 😂 Feeling very grateful this week to spend so much time at ‘work’, outside of work, practising at my studios with all the other teachers 🫶 Also two new business launches coming very soon! ✌️🧚‍♀️✨🌞🌀 #ytt #yogateaching #perthyoga
