Every year, it’s a real challenge to choose a photo that sums up an entire week of musical discoveries or confirmations, encounters or reunions, with the artists and even more with all of you, the audience. 19 years of getting to know each other…
The photo has to provide as much information as possible about what may have happened before the photo was taken and what the future holds in store.
This year, the choice was simple, because one image systematically stood out as being able to sum up much more than a single 2025 edition. It shows people happily sharing a moment out of time. They’re not the same age (Mark, I’m just saying that Neil is younger than you!), they don’t share the same family culture, and they’ve arrived from different parts of the world with the desire to reunite as a family they’ve created over 19 editions around the music.
That’s what Worlwide is all about, a community of music lovers who come year after year on pilgrimage to the shores of the Mediterranean to fill up on music first and foremost, but also on joy and friendship as they try to live this communal musical experience to the full. Then, 19 years summed up in one cliché, this picture does the job !
So this time, there’s no musician or DJ in the picture, just festival-goers, who have become friends, and who represent the very essence of this festival, in its continuity and its renewed youth (three generations with Ravi, aged six months, who came to the WF for the first time with his parents(Neil, this was the best decision!)).
About the soundtrack, I researched it and discovered that there’s no other festival on the planet that has its own anthem. Countries, institutions have, but no festival. So make it our own virtual room and declare Lovebirds the official WF one ! Plus, it means we can hear it again, and enjoy it one last time.
A HUGE thank you to the whole team, for their kindness, their passion and their unfailing professionalism. What a chance to share these moments with you !
See you next year my friends for the 20th edition, with lots of great surprises to celebrate this anniversary, which is yours, as is this festival !
