📩 BITTE MITNEHMEN: Wut-, Trauer-, Hass Briefe an die Wien Holding / über St. Marx (es wird eine kleine Aktion dazu geben)
Am Donnerstag den 9. April hat die Stadt Wien gemeinsam mit der Polizei gewaltsam die seit über 10 Jahren existierende Freifläche und Kulturort in St. Marx räumen lassen. Dabei braucht es in Zeiten von Inflation, steigenden Mieten und Sozialabbau genau diese Räume mehr denn je! Wir brauchen sie um zusammenzukommen, voneinander zu lernen, uns gegenseitig auszuhalten und uns zu organisieren. Doch während die Stadt Wien massenhaft im Sozial- und Kultursektor kürzt, greift sie gleichzeitig genau diese Räume an.
Wir wollen diese Demonstration nutzen um unsere Trauer und unsere Wut über den Verlust dieses Ortes auf die Straße zu tragen. Und auch um klar zu machen: Was sie uns nicht nehmen können, ist die Gemeinschaft und das Selbstverständnis, dass wenn wir zusammen kommen, wir diese Stadt selber mitgestalten können und auch müssen.
Gemeinsam mit dem Bündnis SoWi_So und anderen Initiativen wollen wir deshalb auf die Straße gehen und die prekäre Lage von kulturellen Freiräumen mit dem Widerstand gegen die Sozialkürzungen zusammendenken! Kommt so vielfältig und bunt wie das, was die Stadt in St. Marx weghaben möchte.

The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna will host a night school from 01.–05. June 2026. We will cook, play, craft, learn, move and create stories together. Meet collaborators GelisPark, Multiple Spirits, San Cha Kou, Duannaiyu Wang and Ruby Sircar.
Why is a silver lining, like a guiding star, in times as these dearly needed? We think unleashing ungoverned voices is not just a game played by jins, but something we can all magic up, fabulate and create our own life on. So let’s join hands to weave a fantastic like-minded artistic folk.
