Ruby Bloo  Away, 2025  acrylic on canvas     Ruby Bloo (born 1997 in San Jose, California) is a self-taught visual artist based in San José, California. Her passion for the arts began in elementary school, where she learned to use watercolors and played various musical instruments. Currently, her living room in her cozy one-bedroom apartment serves as her art studio. Through her artwork, Ruby conveys her admiration for nature and explores the softer aspects of life’s experiences. Her recent creations delve into themes of fragility, personal growth, and duality. She draws significant inspiration from the relationships she has cultivated with those who have both hurt and loved her most deeply. Her work has been recently featured in the MACLA exhibition titled Mírame.  MACLA’s 2025 Latinx Art Now! Auction & Exhibition is now on view.
