Charlotte’s dress wasn’t just something she wore. It was something she created… piece by piece, meaning by meaning with the incredibly talented @emmavictoriapaynebridal
And the story?…
She and @mjscholes discovered that their families were unknowingly connected over a century ago - her great-grandfather leaving Lisburn (just outside Michael’s hometown of Belfast) to start a new life in America. A connection that makes their story feel all the more fated.
Their wedding wasn’t about adding details for the sake of it…
It was about honouring where they came from.
Her dress became a place to hold all of that.
A tiny embroidered church - the very place they would say their vows.
Swans stitched into the design, a nod to Michael’s family heritage. A hidden dachshund motif, so her beloved dog could be there in spirit. Elements inspired by her late grandmother’s wedding dress…dogwood flowers, referencing her childhood home in Virginia… Their bespoke monogram woven into her veil.
Every detail intentional.
LIFE holds why it mattered.
This is where those layers come alive.
The sketches. The embroidery inspiration. The meaning behind each tiny decision.
The little stories that would otherwise live in your head… or get lost over time.

Charlotte described her gowns as more than just dresses - but family heirlooms she will cherish for a lifetime, and hopes to pass on to her own child one day.

I love the work involved in making a fully wired cascading bouquet. They are a labour of love but so worth the hours. Three of us hand wired each individual flower and pieces of foliage before working it into this cascading shape that worked so well for our lovely bride.
