Some frames and BTS of my two favourite shoot days on this campaign. @nemzzz_ we filmed in Manchester so I had the pleasure of bringing my manny crew on board with 80% of the job being in London. Always good to get the gang out. Big shout to @lighting_jack_ and @___haz for helping me bring this to life in a tricky location with no power. Controlled shots a tight schedule and lighting flips was a challenge. I fully fell in love with the @panavisionofficial 35-400 and @therealuzzey did the maddest focus pull on a la la land style double whip that didn’t make the cut due to timings. A relic in the archives. Thanks to Mike Greaves for hooking us up as always.
Also shooting @kingfishrofficial in Limerick was such a great experience. A wholesome moment landing in Shannon Ireland for the first time at sunrise. Got to say the place has my heart 🍀 the people there are as warm as nana’s caserole.
Big love to @kc.locke and @jennyosullivan4 who deserve an award for putting up with me on all the travel on the road. Seen every service station on the M6. Brews and choccy rice cakes got us through. Shout out quinny sprinter.

Nell Gwynn brings wit, confidence and modern energy to the 2026 main house season, and its campaign image captures that spirit in a single, striking frame.
The final image features Ruby Ramelize, who is more often found behind the camera as a director, but stepped in front of the lens with ease and generosity for this shoot. The image was photographed by Chris Payne, who #FunFact also supplied the oranges, with the costume supplied by our own wardrobe department here at Theatre by the Lake.
Alongside the finished campaign image, we’re sharing moments from the process … from dress selection and the photoshoot itself, to the artwork appearing on the front cover of our 2026 season brochure. Creating a suite of images meant our co-producers, Shakespeare North Playhouse and Storyhouse Chester, were able to choose the artwork that best sat within their own season identities — a collaboration we’re particularly proud of.
Another reminder that theatre-making doesn’t start on stage, but in collaboration, trust and a willingness to say yes.
