Es geht drunter und drüber. Lange war die Unterhose unterschätzt, tabuisiert, sexualisiert und mit Scham besetzt. Für viele ist sie einfach nur ein Nutzgegenstand. Dabei kann dieser kleine Fetzen Stoff viel mehr. Unterhosen sind wörtlich nicht nur für Scheiße da: Sie können Leben verändern, sind purer Glamour und können Nährboden für Kristalle sein.
This time capsule is a record of the Kommunikationsdesign class of 2025. Each student contributed a work of personal importance, to be buried in the courtyard of the University of Applied Arts Vienna. The focus is on reflection, both as individuals and as a collective, and on gathering—now and in the future.

For the DJ collective @kathi_steiner_@ruby_hell_ , the animation “Dancing Flowers” was created by combining video recordings of blooming flowers with a self-developed ASCII effect built from the letters KFI and the @ symbol.
A technoid-organic pattern between nature and code. 🌸🔠✨

For @poolbarfestival 2025, a crossmedia design concept was created to express this year’s theme “Wechselbad der Gefühle” (“emotional rollercoaster”) of emotional contrast and rhythm in motion.
Bold, shifting typography interacts with flowing gradients, echoing soundwaves, spectrograms, and the movement of water. The typeface Gravity by @abcdinamo brings visual order into the emotional turbulence.
At the core: animated wave motions that mirror the ups and downs of the festival’s emotional arc.
A “Wechselbad” between calm and tension, clarity and disruption.
Grounded in perceptual psychology.
Repetition, rhythm, friction = attention.

Als Kommunikationsdesigner:innen sehen wir die Stadt als gesellschaftliche und individuelle Petrischalen mit ihren eigenen Mikrokosmen und -organismen. Welche Muster können wir ablesen? Welche Konfliktzonen können wir ausmachen? Welche Veränderungen wollen wir als aktive Mitgestalter:innen unserer urbanen Umwelt anstoßen? Achtzehn Studierende der Klasse für Ideen in Kommunikationsdesign verhandelten diese und ähnliche Fragestellungen über die vergangenen Wochen und laden zur Tankstelle des Nordwestbahnhofs, um ihre Ergebnisse vorzustellen.
