‘Celebrating the Beat of the Earth: a portrait about connection, celebration and transformation at Earth Beat festival’ is a documentary I made in 2023
@earthbeatfestival . It explores the transformative power of celebration and the importance of community and connection.
Through visuals and interviews with organisers, artists, Maori cultural experts and visitors, the film captures the spirit of the Earth Beat Festival in New Zealand, where different cultures come together to celebrate life, culture, and connection.
You’ll see how the festival creates a sense of community and unity grounded in authentic principles, and how it acknowledges the importance of community, inclusivity, and respect for the land and its people. It also offers a perspective on the challenges of transformational festivals.
