Chuffed as anything to be a part of this brilliant company, telling the story of Princess Sophia Duleep Singh at Hampton Court Palace. She deserves to have her voice heard. I’m playing a trio of characters including Emmeline Pankhurst herself and it’s been great to remind myself of some of these amazing women that marched, shoulder to shoulder. I’m currently on my way to work for our second day of shows… but first, I did something that Sophia, Emmeline and the 1000’s of brave WSPU comrades fought for the right to do. I voted. World Theatre Day. Here’s to theatre and all who sail those seas! Couple of days back, @tbtlake sent me on a trip down memory lane and I’ve been going back through the piccies. Final week in this lovely place. Hugest thanks to Michael and Jim at The Apollo Theatre @nimaxtheatres for the wonderful tour of the amazing building. Our theatrical history and heritage is soaked into the bones of these buildings and it was such a pleasure to follow the breadcrumb trail to the past. Seeing the old ticket kiosk. The original theatre managers accommodation. A secret passage through a scooby-doo style hidden door! Sub stage and the fly tower. After that, fizzy-pop and caterpillar cake with the Front Of House Team who have looked after us and the audiences every show. Legends. 🙌🏻❤️👏🏻 Thank you.

SKOMER ISLAND Should have posted this ages ago but back in July, we got to @skomer_island to see these beautiful birds. We were absolutely enchanted and it was exactly what we needed! I’ve been finally sifting through the hundreds of photos I took that day and it’s a beautiful reminder of a great trip. The Puffins are obviously not around at this time of year but knowing that their numbers have been growing every year when they return to nest, speaks volumes about the amazing work going on both on Skomer and nearby Skokholm. Note: for the sake of accuracy, I’m told that photo 3 are NOT puffins. According to Wiki they are “an England-based indie rock band” so… @wildlifetrustsww @bethan_fights

I get very nervous about these things but a few weeks back, I spent a couple of hours in his company putting the world to rights (I was probably talking a lot of waffle to be fair) while he took some pics. 15th January 2025: @actorsequity Swing Day! For the last few years, The Actors’ Equity Association in America have taken a day to celebrate swings. I don’t think we’ve done this in the UK much… perhaps in time…. so, for now, I wanna send some love to the wonderful understudy companies I’ve been so privileged to be a part of. Hardworking, endlessly supportive, supremely brilliant…. Here’s to you. NINE NIGHT 🇯🇲 (2018-2019) AKA Team Top Floor! We danced every day! And our understudy run remains one of the most unbelievable experiences of my life! THE WELKIN ☄️ (2019-2020) Love this daft bunch. We didn’t manage to finish The Welkin journey properly and I’m still gutted about that. But seeing the amazing work everyone has been doing since is inspiring. ALL OF US ❤️ (2020-2022) An unexpected pleasure to be a part of this one. I stupidly didn’t get a pic of the understudy company…. but perhaps, aptly, here is all of us from ALL OF US. Because that was what it was about, after all! THE CORN IS GREEN 💚 (2022) One of the most transformative experiences. We were family. And then there was chaos week! OMG! Also shouting out to the wardrobe and WHAM teams who I’ve seen whip a whole new costume out from somewhere, or find a spare hair piece with minutes to go. And thank you to Stage Management who throw the right props at us and get us on through the right entrances!!! Apologies for screaming/ hiding/ crying whenever you knock on our dressing room doors - we know why you might be there! I’ve seen some monumental efforts to make sure the show actually does go on! Here’s to everyone that makes that happen. I’m so grateful to have worked on roles I’d never usually dream of playing. The challenge has lifted me and I know I’m all the better for those experiences. Understudying can be weird too sometimes. It can seem strangely solitary at times. You watch and watch and watch and prep, prep, prep and then retain that energy for something that might never happen. It’s working roles that might never actually be realised and sometimes that’s quite hard to let go. So, yeah…. Here’s to Understudies, Swings & Covers everywhere.
