Victoria’s Education Minister James Merlino last week turned the first sod for the new Fishermans Bend Secondary School, which is being project managed by Root Partnerships.
On completion in 2022, the four-storey school in Port Melbourne will have a strong emphasis on science, technology, engineering, arts and maths – STEAM – and will include a high-tech robotics workshop, digital technology and fabrication lab.
Root Partnerships and project partners from Billard Leece Partnership and Hutchinson Builders joined our client, Victorian School Building Authority, Minister Merlino and Martin Foley, the member for Albert Park, for the occasion.
The architecture and materials for the building honour the unique maritime and industrial identity of the area, with the state-of-the-art school showcasing an environmentally-sustainable design along with its high-tech facilities.

We’re thrilled to have completed another successful project for our client Icon Oceania -- Calibre, a luxury residential development in Surry Hills.
Designed by renowned architect Koichi Takada, Calibre features 18 apartments including a three-bedroom penthouse, one and two-bedroom apartments and executive studio apartments, all of which showcase beautiful interiors with high-end finishes and fixtures.
Root Partnerships provided full project management services for the design, development and construction of Calibre.

The museum at Lightning Ridge - celebrating Australia’s national gemstone - will be an energy-efficient, two storey underground building, providing new models for sustainable building design in semi-Arid Australia.
A project like this doesn’t come along very often - it is a great example of a place-making enabler, providing significant benefit to the local community.

Work is underway on the major $45 million refurbishment of Melbourne Airport’s T2 International arrivals hall, project managed by @rootpartnerships .
With passenger numbers growing - set to reach almost 70 million a year by 2038 - the refurbishment is designed to deliver a better experience for travellers, creating a more spacious arrivals hall with improved connectivity, new bathroom facilities and new hospitality fitouts.
Our partnership with Melbourne airport spans 22 years and many varied projects.
We will once again be working with the project team to ensure minimal disruption to passengers.
