Come along with me to look at some of the OLDEST newspaper archives in Pakistan in this beautiful library 📚 🗞️ 🇵🇰
This was one of the most interesting experiences I’ve had because these were original newspapers from every single year of Pakistans history. I thought it would be interesting to share more of my academic research here on rozana 🤌🏽🙂↔️ only a few weeks left and I’ll be done!

Read banned books!
Kashmir faces more media blackouts and censorship than almost anywhere else in the world. It’s a reminder of other moments in South Asian history when student groups, TV shows, and even radio stations were banned, simply because the state felt threatened by ideas and words…

A little history lesson 📚
In 2003, 7 in 10 Americans believed Iraq was responsible for 9/11 — a false narrative pushed to justify one of the deadliest invasions in modern history.
Today, the U.S. and Israel are using the same propaganda playbook for Iran.
Pay attention. 🇮🇷🇮🇶🇺🇸

Excited to work with @pbs@itvsindies over the next year to produce storytelling and docuseries content. This is the kind of work I dreamed of doing 🥹⭐️🎥
The question is not whether tourism is good or bad, at this point it’s inevitable. What we should focus on is how we responsibly engage with the places we visit, understand local issues, and learn the histories behind the landscapes we consume.
Gilgit-Baltistan is a perfect example of this. To outsiders, it can seem “pristine,” untouched, almost separate from the rest of the world. But beyond the beauty are ongoing conversations around political representation, militarization, land, environmental strain, and rapid development.
As tourism grows, so do questions around who benefits from it, who gets displaced by it, and who gets to shape the future of the region.
If you want to learn more, I really recommend the anthology Beyond the Mountains: Social and Political Imaginaries in Gilgit-Baltistan. It brings together indigenous and local voices to explore the region’s cultural heritage and political complexities beyond the tourist gaze.

Watching this series is like watching a deep dive movie and it’s blowing my mind 🤯 especially in the current context, it’s so fascinating to see just how engrained Muslims are in American history @americanmuslimsfilm
I have so much to share from this trip but all I want to say is Gilgit-Baltistan is hands down one of the most beautiful places in the whole world. 🥹🏔️ This is going to be one of my core memories for the rest of my life
We visited specific areas in Gilgit-Baltistan & KPK like Hunza, Skardu, Nagar, etc..I will be sharing more about each specific place in detail because there are so many different languages, cultures, and religious practices that are unique to each one.
Itinerary and more informational videos coming soon, but big shoutout to @travanpk for being the best hosts and local team on the ground! #pakistan #hunza #gilgitbaltistan #travel

Spending time understanding city in South Asia really changes how you see the world…layers of culture, history, and everyday life all shaping each other. Hyderabad captures that beautifully: old and new, tradition and change, all existing at once. It’s a reminder of how connected everything is. ☕️ 🇮🇷 🇮🇳 🗺️ #hyderabad #india #pakistan #history #iran
NO MORE BORING LIVING SPACES!! So excited to continue this series, I know it’s been a while :) I truly believe how you curate your surroundings is a reflection of who you are, so I really wanted our apartment to emphasize that. 🕌 🖼️ 🎨 🪩
