Introducing Krisia “Kiki” Powell (@the_queen_of_metal ), a Venezuelan-born, Los Angeles-based experiential designer and hospitality powerhouse. Known as the “Queen of Metal,” Kiki brings over 20 years of expertise in fabrication and design to the ward. Her practice blends raw materiality with an intuitive mastery of how humans inhabit and feel within a space.
For the Hospital of Emotions, Kiki, in collaboration with Royva, presents an intimate exploration of the quiet return to joy. Inspired by a deeply personal chapter of healing, this installation serves as a moment of stillness. It is a clinical reminder that joy is not always a loud outburst; often, it is a gentle, internal discovery that begins within the self.

Have you ever imagined creating art
inside a real hospital room?
This May 2026,
an abandoned hospital in Los Angeles
will be transformed into a large-scale immersive art exhibition.
HOSPITAL OF EMOTIONS
Heal your heART
One building.
Four floors.
Over one hundred rooms.
One hundred artists.
We invite artists from all disciplines :
visual artists, designers, architects, illustrators,
street artists, sound artists, set designers,
and multidisciplinary creators.
Each artist will take over an entire hospital room
- walls, floors, ceilings, and original furniture -
and transform it into a site-specific art installation,
inspired by one of the exhibition’s Emotional Departments,
exploring emotions such as joy, love, fear, anger, hope, and resilience.
No previous experience creating full-room installations is required.
What matters is a strong idea
and the technical ability to bring your wildest imagination to life.
Selected artists receive
a production budget
and an artist fee per room.
International artists are welcome. Selected artists must be able to be on-site in Los Angeles during the installation period.
