Hair @hairbysunidhi . Photographer @mrinmaiparab . SOCIETY LOVES TO PAINT MEN AS THESE INVINCIBLE, UNFLINCHING WARRIORS-GUN-SLINGING, SWORD-WIELDING, READY TO CONQUER THE WORLD WITH A SINGLE GLARE. THINK OF EVERY ACTION HERO ROLLED INTO ONE. BUT HERE’S THE CATCH: ALL THOSE GUNS, SWORDS, AND STOIC GLARES? THEY’RE JUST PROPS IN A BIG PERFORMANCE,WHERE EVERYONE’S ACTING LIKE THESE THINGS MAKE YOU A REAL MAN. BENEATH ALL THE BRAVADO AND GRITTED TEETH, BEING A “REAL” MAN ISN’T ABOUT HOW MANY ACTION-HERO PROPS YOU CAN JUGGLE. IT’S ABOUT SOMETHING MUCH MORE CHALLENGING-EMBRACING VULNERABILITY, THAT’S WHERE THE ULTIMATE STRENGTH LIES IN BEING A HUMAN THAN BEING A MAN. FAKE GUNS, ONCE SYMBOLS OF POWER, ARE REIMAGINED AS TOYS, MOCKING THE IDEA OF MACHO STRENGTH WHILE CONNECTING WITH THAT INNER CHILD. AT THE SAME TIME, THE SUBJECT IS ALSO PORTRAYED WITH ELEMENTS THAT REFLECT THE SOCIETAL PRESSURES TO EMBODY A STEREOTYPICAL “MAN’S MAN”-WHETHER IT’S THROUGH RIGID, CORPORATE ATTIRE OR A NOD TO THE MONOTONY OF A 9-TO-5 JOB. AS THE BRIEFCASE OPENS, IT’S NOT PAPERS OR CONTRACTS SPILLING OUT. BUT A CASCADE OF TOYS, A DOLLHOUSE, AND WHIMSICAL PROPS. IT’S A METAPHOR FOR THE INNER SELF-THE PLAYFUL, VULNERABLE, AND SOFT PARTS OF HIS IDENTITY-THAT HE’S BEEN CARRYING AROUND ALL ALONG, BUNDLED UP INSIDE THE BRIEFCASE OF SOCIETAL EXPECTATION. IN THE END, THE ENTIRE CREATIVE VISION CELEBRATES VULNERABILITY, PLAYFULNESS, AND THE COURAGE TO EMBRACE ONE’S SOFTER SIDE. IT REDEFINES STRENGTH. NOT AS SOMETHING HARD AND UNYIELDING, BUT AS THE WILLINGNESS TO BE REAL, OPEN, AND A LITTLE BIT WHIMSICAL IN A WORLD THAT OFTEN TAKES ITSELF FAR TOO SERIOUSLY.

A cinematic viewpoint of two souls, one light and one shadow, each page of their pictorial diary etching a tale of fleeting encounters and profound connections beyond mere words. . . I've used mix media for certain edits, you'll see scanned prints of an actual diary and single sheets with overlapping images. Whereas, others were edited on @photoshop . . Parts of the concept were inspired by the music video of Sémaphore by @requin_chagrin with @naelmalassagne and @elias.hauter . .
