• combination chicken rice $13.99
• oxtail pho $19.99
phodega is an asian-american noodle and snack shop in wicker park, mixing vietnamese flavors with more casual comfort food style dishes
i’ve been here a few times already and it’s still one of those easy spots to come back to
the oxtail pho is rich and comforting, and my vietnamese friend approved the broth
the chicken rice hits the craving every time
first time trying the phodega fries and it actually works really well: ribeye, cilantro, onion, jalapeños, gravy over seasoned fries… pho ingredients on fries but in a good way
the salt & pepper wings are also solid, my friend said it’s pretty close to how it’s done back home
a good go-to if you want something casual, flavorful, and a little different from a traditional pho spot

From toothless karaoke sessions to 19 years of kinda knowing it all, I have loved every version of you. Keep being fearless, funny, always grounded and unapologetically YOU. The future has big plans for you — spoiler alert: it’s GREATNESS (and student loans😂.)
Happiest birthday to my one and only, my best friend, my mini-me. I couldn’t be more proud of the incredible woman you are becoming.
I love you most 😘
Perfectly imperfect weekends with our crew means:
lots of jokes.
lots of trolling.
lots of revised plans.
at least 1, if not 2 super stupid arguments.
and lots and lots of grubbin.
Time to wrap this shit up. Happiest Birthday, kid. Adult. Whatever the fuck. Here are some of my favorite memories and shots of you. Love you more everyday!!
Six years ago, my pops checked out of the hospital and into Heaven.
My dad grew up in the 60s in California. He was half Korean and half White. Him and his siblings may have been the first of their kind in America. 😂😂😂
He loved The Beach Boys, John Wayne, black licorice, Jesus, and his country. He met my mom in college and he fathered and raised 4 children all the way to adulthood before he left us. If you don’t have children, you cannot understand the feat it is to raise that many pieces of garbage. Every dollar and bit of energy he had was spent providing for his family. He did it without hesitation, without recognition, and he suffered in silence. He was a great man.
He never drank, smoke, or swore. In the end, it was a lung disease that got him. Doctors don’t know where it comes from and there is no cure.
So, enjoy your life. Spend time with your loved ones. Never spend too much energy or time on the negative ones.
Cheers to you, Dad. Hope you got Instagram. Love you.
