More than 3 months early, #ZaraBrianna was born a #micropreemie on December 4th 2022 via emergency c-section at 2 lbs 6.7 oz. I was just 26 weeks + 4 days pregnant. My original due date was March 8th, 2023. She spent 93 days in the NICU at @templehealth . I have asked myself over & over again, ‘why did this happen?’. It’s an answer I will probably never have. We had so many plans to have a gender reveal, a baby shower, which did not happen because Zara had other plans . This has been an unforgettable journey. To see my baby girl go from living in an incubator, hooked up to a bunch of tubes to now being home is something I will never take for granted. It’s an experience I’d never wish on anyone because it is the scariest thing I’ve ever dealt with. The tears, the sleepless nights, the prayers are countless, but ironically, an experience that’s grown close to my heart because of the people & organizations that I’ve met & grown fond of. It’s an amazing community that you’d never know about until you’re forced to join . Zara has been home for about 2 weeks now so I’ve just been enjoying having her. She is thriving, being a baby…eating, sleeping, & pooping lol . Tristan is still getting used to having his little sister here. He loves her, but she cannot play with his toys. We are working on that 😂 . There are not enough thank yous that my husband & I can say to express our utmost gratitude to the staff at @templehealth from the incredibly caring nurses in the labor ward to the #NICU nurses who took such amazing care of our baby to all the knowledgeable doctors that made sure this road was as smooth as possible . I didn’t want the first image of my daughter to be in a hospital connected to machines. I wanted you to see her as this beautiful baby girl with chubby cheeks that is healthy & loved so much. So, let me introduce you to the newest member of the family, Zara Brianna Jordan 💕 .
