🎤 ROXY & THE UNDERGROUND SOUL SOUND Live at Jube 2025 – and long overdue on our radar. Ahead of the festival, we had the chance to chat with Roxy Mercier and even exchange a few words backstage. Somehow, this was our first time catching Roxy & The Underground Soul Sound live — and we’re both impressed and a little embarrassed by that. The Halifax-based, award-winning 6-piece soul-funk band has been captivating audiences across Canada since 2013 with their high-energy live shows and genre-blending sound. Known for standout festival appearances at Halifax Jazz Fest, Harvest, Stan Rogers, and Cloggeroo, they’ve also opened for the likes of Chaka Khan, The Trews, Matthew Good, and Joel Plaskett. 🎶 The band’s sound, rooted in old-school funk, has evolved with each release — incorporating elements of R&B and Neo-Soul, as heard on their latest EP Daylight. 🎙️ Want more?
