Attention snackers, dinner party throwers, and people wanting to spend time touching clay! We have an exciting class coming up where you will learn to make a custom charcuterie board from clay then return to custom glaze your piece! Sign up on our website: iamround.com
Here's a few of the beautiful pieces from our recent Saturday Handbuilding class on soap dishes and sponge holders. 🧼🧽 These classes are so fun because everyone gets the same basic prompt and then takes it in their own direction. Join us for one of our upcoming Saturdays Handbuilding workshops on bud vases, hooks and wall nooks, or lidded jars! Spots are filling up quickly these days 💛💛💛 Let us know in the comments something that you'd like to make and maybe it will feature in an upcoming class!
Update: this class is now full (yay!), but please join our email list to hear when the next session is available!
Want to learn to work on the pottery wheel? Now's your chance! Our next 6 week wheel class starts Tuesday and we have 2 spots left. Reach out if you have any questions!
Hi, I’m Sarah Hazelke!
I live in Chatham with my sweet little family and two perfect cats.
I am a visual artist working primarily in ceramics. I have a creative business called Round Designs (@rounddesigns ) and I run Round Clay Studio (@roundclay ) in Chatham where I make my work and teach clay classes.
My work serves to boost the subtle things that I appreciate in the world. Two favorites are explored in my piece: the joy of encountering a wondrous creature in an unexpected place and the whimsy of an object making a sound you don’t expect. I have been making pots that make sound for years, this is the first one that doesn’t do double duty as a utilitarian object.
Connect with me for clay classes or to show me a cool creature you saw on a walk.
My dream project is any art collaboration that I get to do with my daughter. I’d also love to work with a musician on making custom percussion instruments out of clay.
Layered glazes can do such beautiful things! A student in our 6 week beginning wheel class did a deep dive into the test tile wall and picked out glazes that combined in interesting ways. I couldn't resist snapping some pics at these otherworldly patterns 😍 Well done, Katrina!!
Calling all gardeners! This Saturday we're making plant labels in our Saturday Handbuilding class. We'd love for you to join! 🌱🌿 Not a gardener? That's ok! You can make a welcoming sign for the fairies in your yard or a wall plaque for inside your house. 🧚 Come make something!
First and third pictures are Images of student work from last year's version of this class.
Here's a few of the mirror frames made in today's Saturday Handbuilding class! Once they make it through the kiln we'll glue mirrors onto the back to fill the holes. Keep your eye out for more Saturday Handbuilding classes in April!
Saturday Handbuilding is back! Join us for one or all of the next three Saturdays and make something. Projects for these sessions are a coil pot (my phone auto corrected to 'cool pot', which is also an option), snack dish, and mirror frame (we provide the mirrors). Adults $35 Kids (with adult) $10. Materials and firings included. Can't wait to see what you make!
Joe wanted to make charcuterie boards with his family and we made it happen! If you have a project idea and a group that wants to make something together, please reach out and we can plan a private group lesson. These turned out so beautifully and this family was so fun to work with. 🧀🍇🥒🥜
Beauties from the last glaze kiln of the year. I'm grateful for everyone who has made something at Round Clay Studio this year. Here's to more creating and community in 2026!
Help us spread the word! Ornaments at Round is a unique opportunity to shop handmade ornaments from 48 local artists right in the Village of Chatham! We're not on Main St, but we are soooo close. Cross those train tracks and come see these beautiful, small works of art for yourself!
