Thats how i got my copy of African Rub A Dub many years ago in a collection i got from Jamaica. Love this sleeve so much! Wish i had more of those Studio One Dub Albums back than... But this was honestly not what i was digging and what i have kept is more likely collateral copies i kept from collections i had bought from Jamaica.

Always loved this 12" , Deep Roots music all the way thru , fantastic cover design , wicked dj style and dub.
Till now days i'd say under-rater or still quite unknown?!
I remember hearing a cool dubplate of the riddim (maybe Tubby mixed??) from Tradition Records , may be possible that @goldenrootssoundsystem knows more or may even have it?
I have always kept a spare , not really even looking to trade it but if something particularly tasty is proposed.... Why not 🤣🙉🙈🙊

Another of those invisible Afro 45 , Silver Disc was a sub label to Scottie Records which a bit later issued a number of quite incredible Lps and few other very cool singles (also on Silver Disc) , mainly by the Future Hopes. This is a sweet and deep rock instrumental by Dee-Mites aka AC Hillman Jerry (??)
East Nigerian little groups of the early 70s made some amazing music!

Another Epical Roots Saga 😍 Holy Mount Zion , Open the Gate Bobby Boy... There are few different versions of this , I remember as a kid listening the Well Pleased and Satisfied version from an Mp3 , than later when i started looking for records i basically could never afford the maxi and ended up discovering those on 45rpm that i guess at the time were less known or sough after (apparently not now). As last of the 3 i found the incredibly good instrumental by Ancil Collins with the great studio speaks (if im not wrong i git this from @hayashi_masaya together eith other incredible records)
I also have somewhere an acetate with a different remake , not sure by who with a wicked flute in the mix.
Label design , simple and classic is fantastic ⭐

One of those yet obscure Afro 45rpm , love the vibe , love the energy and love to remind when me and @juakali_ found it the 1st time (we do have a spare that may leave the house in case of some big serious 45rpm trade)
Its strange as most of the Lps we have seen on this label are all yoruba Juju or traditional albums while this 45rpm seems to be from an Igbo singer?!?
Nigerian trips were great , full of culture and incredible memories.

Another of those epical 70's Roots little Saga , lloydie Slim production , I can't honestly remember how i git those 😵💫 but i remember the Festival 45rpm was Mysterious , down here in south Europe i guess very few knew of it's existence considering that even "Jah Send The Parson" was definitely not something you could hear around...i heard voices that there was a second vocal but never get to hear it before finally finding a copy. Extremely rare... Yes , extremely killer... Maybe not compared to the other one... Yet feeling blessed to have the couple 😍 i had good taste when i was a kidd 😆😆
Special mention to the Jah Jah Send the Parson B side , love the seaside sound and mix is cool aswell even if i would have mixed it a bit more wild 😁

The Bunny Lie Lie cut on this riddim have been on my wantlist for a decade at least , when i got it i had never seen a copy of it before and i still remember nobody even bet on the auction and i was the only bidder.
Oh Dreadlocks is still way better to my ears 😬 but still great to have the copy together. I never had a chance to find the 3rd vocal on the riddim...i guess I'll have to live without , no remorse 😆
I remember a friend telling me that someone involved in the production of this label at a point started selling weird "reissues" of those track as if they were original , probably printed from old label papers , maybe from old stampers , few with solid center few without. This before they were officially re-released. I guess few of the simil-originals out deh must be sort of fakes?! Glad i had those little before all this story so i have no doubts.

Corner 25 , back in 2008/2009 Litelet played this BAD 45rpm , got home the week after i found a cheap copy from Jamaica , noone to very little people knew it and we were lucky to do those crazy sessions full of knowledge sharing and (back than) obscure Chunes that gave us a pole position when they appeared for sale. I ended up playing it a few times , honestly...always kinda flopping in session and i sort of park it and never really played it again.
Than 2026 on the car to Netherland with @ivanzre Youtube suggest me "Orlando Folkes" , damnnnn KILLLLLER 😬😬 i should give it another chance next time i'll be out playing a roots party!

In the last days we been thru the Igbo-Highlife collection , rediscovering some of those incredible highlife albums which we haven't been listening for years. This style of highlife is way more energic compared to what we usually listen (Delta/Etsakor) , long tracks with great vocals and most of all crazy instrumetal parts , wild guitars , breaks , rythm changes & screams. As always i salute our friends in Colombia Barranquilla , Santa Marta , Cartagena & spuroundings , who keep this music alive and kicking.
We hope one day to be able visit the many friends in the area to enjoy the great Pico vibes
