Where is the celebration heading? The people rejoice in careless frivolity, they are able to let go of their worries, for someone else is here to carry it now.

What becomes of the child who is blessed with foresight? Surrounded by the deafening joy of a society that believes a living prophet is born, the child sits within a gilded cage of her own divinity. She sits at the border between divinity and exploitation.

Elevated to almost a position of royalty, ornately dressed and showered in admiration and postulence, but now trapped within a ritualistic cycle of worship and being the embodiment of idolation. The vibrant, chaotic energy of the surrounding parade serves as a sensory veil, masking the desolate reality of the girl’s confinement. She is sorrowful and alone, in a sea of escastic celebrations. Looking closer at her palanquin: the silver bars are spaced just narrow enough to remind us that a pedestal is often just a cage with a better view.

The Chosen One who will lead the people to salvation, a title she did not choose for herself yet is forced to wear it just the same. It is a commentary on exploitation of innocence, and modern world religious and political systems that sometimes we need to look closer at.
