Grabbed the Evo straight off the boat and to its new home. Nostalgia is really getting the best of me 😂

We set a Pikes Peak record - in a car you can pretty much buy off the showroom floor! Things I never expected to be saying in life. Big big thanks to the entire @bryanhertaautosport team for giving me a car that ripped every morning at 4am for a month straight, @hyundaiusa for putting me in this race even with my hilarious ‘racing resume’, and everyone else who helped us get here. What a wild experience.

First ever competitive miles in the new Evo 6 rally car ❤️‍🔥 Teamed up with @gorditobanditofpv to try out this matched split screen cut with drone and my POV. This thing is already so good out the box. Now just need to catch up!

Had to get the new Evo project out on gravel as soon as humanly possible… crazy to go from watching these cars on gritty VHS tapes to being behind the wheel. And there’s no better place to do it than my second home, @RallyReady . This thing is *ridiculously* good, straight out the box 📸: @trevorlydenphoto 🤳: @rally.kj

Just trying to expand your Marketplace horizons Really though it was pretty cool to do the shipping process myself for the first time. All you need is a good broker, and sime trust with the buyer/seller. I used @cfrclassic but there are many good ones out there. You could also just be normal and get your cars domestically to make life way easier 😂

Once an Evo nerd forever an Evo nerd Never expected to get rid of my RS, but this was too good of a deal to pass up. The only car I ever really regret selling is my rally car - and this one hits on a whole other level. Plus it’s in line with a new project I have launching soon. Big big thank you to @karlssonracing86 for the hospitality and joining this crazy journey.

12 years with this Evo RS - by far the longest I’ve ever owned a car. Crazy how many versions (rly tried not to use the evolution pun here) it’s seen in that time: daily driver, track beater, ice racer, crashed anxiety project, video game car, @leencustoms pin, dyno queen, and a ridiculously overbuilt Gymkhana Grid car. It’s been East, it’s been West, sometimes in between. Now it’s on its next quest - but that’s for a whole other post.

Today, we close out one of the biggest projects I’ve taken on this year: The People’s Champ exhibit at the Petersen Museum here in LA, to celebrate @kblock43 ‘s impact on the automotive world. We started work late last year with a scrappy crew (some who got their start all the way back in the mid 90s DC Shoes days) and jammed for 2 months to make it happen. Frame by frame: 1: One of my favorite shots of the exhibit by @chazzydawg 2: Tens of thousands of photo, video, marketing and design files across a few dozen hard drives, servers, and laptops. Some more than 15 years old. Each drive like a lil time capsule of that project. 3: The shipping container, our centerpiece to make the exhibit feel like the original Hoonigan Racing headquarters in Utah. A real ISO 20” container weighs like 5000lbs, and would require a ton of fab work to look like this. So we hit up our old friend Matthew Holt at @lasetconstruction , who made magic happen by building this collapsible version of a container out of MDF and molded plastic - way easier to transport. 4: The timeline wall, where we tried to distill 15+ years of relentless work into a few key talking points. Not easy. Brought in some original items like shoes, trophies, and wheels to give it more depth. 5: We debated on whether on putting the Hoonicorn front and center, but we ended up dedicating a whole corner to the car (and some gear from the original LA shoot) instead. The seam shown in this shot has a story behind it, for the DMs if you’re curious 6: We had to put every car on one of these platforms, so that the Museum crew could move the cars out of the way to hold events inside the exhibit. I really like these because they put the cars closer to eye level, which was closer to the way people experienced them on video. 7: The Utah fleet, getting ready for transpo from Park City to LA with the help of @broken_quattros 8: I even convinced momcar to come out from the East Coast to check out the exhibit. BIG thanks to everyone who helped make this exhibit happen: @petersenmuseum @mrslucyjonesblock @43institute @brianscotto @hivedsgn @pamzam @gengunnarson @lasetconstruction and so many more
