Wow, Vogue Downtown’s Runway show… So much I want to say, but as my music has already spoken for itself, here a short summary:
When
@lindagumusgerritsen asked me to curate the mixtape for the show, I carefully selected four tracks that matched my current brainwaves with the DNA of Vogue. Opening the show with an unreleased Vogue Runway edit of my first single (!!) ‘Touch Me’ made me pinch myself. ‘Touch Me’ represents the game of chasing, in aspiration to defeat. This track is a reminder that you will always be ahead when you trust your own timing, pace, and light.
High heels, long legs: a track by multi-talented
@u.r.trax is my translation of the feminine gaze. Fearless, sensual, objectified, untouchable.
The message behind ‘Get Your Fckin Laws off My Body‘ by
@planningtorock @narcissssssssssss is clear, although we have to scream it louder. I am so proud I could use the stage on the P.C. Hooftstraat for that purpose. It’s my ode to everyone who has been in a situation of sexual intimidation and beyond. For my women: keep dressing exactly how you feel. For men: educate and get your *** hands off our bodies.
Ending the show with Magazine by
@domvalentinoo is a celebration of print, Vogue NL, and journalism.
I want to end by thanking everyone involved in making this special project happen in this monumental phase of my career- a phase where I am finally ready to share my voice, not only through my curations behind the decks, but also through the art of singing.
