As a structural engineer, I’ve worked on some of the world’s tallest buildings — but today, the stakes are much higher. I’m in the kitchen with a chocolate bar, some gummy laces, and a big question: Can we make chocolate stronger?

Total blast hosting the @ice_engineers North West awards ceremony!
Close to 50 entries were judged, whittled down in ten categories, and the highly commended projects plus winners announced in Liverpool.
The podium didn't hide me this time, and I got to wear my new gold top. And be surrounded by 299 engineers and 1 architect.

A legendary question for @romatheengineer !
Besides from being a trailblazer in male-dominated spaces, Roma is a structural engineer, author and presenter who has designed bridges, skyscrapers, and sculptures over her 14 year career.
She’s written 5 books about engineering and is passionate about inspiring people from all different backgrounds to be curious about the world around them and maybe discover the world of engineering and science careers along the way.
It's so annoying how expensive it is to repair stuff in the UK, which is why we so often end up buying new electronic devices even though the broken ones can be fixed.
Props to @restartproject and researchers like @mark_miodownik who are working to make this better.
