Oona slipped into her next incarnation today.
Her decline was mercifully swift and she passed gently in the tender care of her beloveds. Our little wisp of smoke-the mythic, singularly beautiful beast. I don’t know how I will get on without her calm presence, her joy, her beauty. It’s so hard to form the words, and imagine they are true.
My ceramic works are now available for commission with Studio Tashtego! So thrilled to be working with visionary Julia Caldwell and her wonderful assistant Lauren Ruyle - the dream team. They’ve built a brilliant site to view my glazes and forms. Thank you @studio_tashtego !
Birth of Venus. 2021. In various states… going through old images, remembering the slowness of progress. Sculpting the just hand is one week of labor waiting for the clay to slowly dry to just the right consistency for each process: forming blobs, refining shape, carving details, burnishing smooth, sanding….

Losing the light to early nightfall is easier to bear with candlelight. 🕯️The evening Morris decided to cut an archway into the wall, I wasn’t 100% sure about making the ceramic insert but jumped in head first. Absolutely love living with it…. Be it a window, frame, altar, passthrough, sculpture - it’s many things. Can’t wait to make more, so let me know if you need one…!
