Rollers Giancarlo, Jameson, Patrick, and Seth took on the USAFA front range cycling classic. The crit course was fast and fun, with a mean crosswind before the final straightaway. The road race had a tough hill climb that Jameson conquered 6x for the Masters win! 🥇 Seth also got on the podium! 🥉

We are springing into action. April is jam packed with local race events, and I am stoked to see @rollerscycling compete, starting with USAFA front range cycling classic.
Thank you to @altagroup.cc@assos_usa@pinarello_us@wovebike for your support.
On the way to Gold Hill for a cookie, riding my new Pinarello Grevil F in Polaris Purple, in the finest Assos Mille GTO kit.
Special thanks to all of the good folks at @altagroup.cc@assos_usa@pinarello_us that make dream builds come true. #scrlgallery
Assos Custom brings your exclusive designs to life. The new Rollers kit was made on the Equipe RS line. What better way to test it than race course recon? @assos_usa
After five long years, the Koppenberg is back. Our course recon confirmed the 17% grade and the washboard descent immediately after will be a point of field separation.
Happy Daylight Savings to all who celebrate! Winter has been a season of change and renewal for me. I connected with new people that have been a positive influence on my health and fitness. Race season is approaching quickly, and I am stoked to photograph some exciting events. #bici #vélo #fromwhereiride #assos #pinarello
"Succeeding often means building a sustained tolerance for failure."
I’ve lost a lot of bike races in my lifetime. Each one was a chance to learn. What went wrong? What went right? What could have been better?
I didn’t come into Valley of the Sun expecting to win but I knew I had good fitness. A strong training block in Miami translated into solid numbers back home in Boulder. Racing here last year also helped, but races are never the same. You can make a plan, but you have to be ready to throw it out.
I think this is where my strength lies. My mental Rolodex of race situations is deep. I may not know exactly how a race will unfold, but I usually have a good sense of what’s coming and can adjust on the fly.
Friday was the TT. 7th place, 28 mph over 10 miles, 53 seconds off the fastest time on a TT bike.
Saturday was the 100 km road race. I stayed patient early and never forced the race. First time up the finishing climb the field split and I knew it was time to move. I bridged to the break, which was caught, but I stayed focused.
Soon after, I recognized a rider from Green Mountain last year. He was well down on GC and clearly motivated. His body language gave it away. I knew the counter was coming. Sure enough, he launched and I followed.
We built nearly two minutes and committed, about 45 miles up the road together. On the final climb I considered going solo but trusted my sprint. As we came to the line, he sat up and conceded. I rolled across first with just enough energy to lift a fist in the air.
Sunday’s crit was about staying safe with over a minute on GC. That nearly went sideways in turn two of the final lap when riders crashed on both sides of me, but I kept it upright and finished with the group.
Overall win at Valley of the Sun. @vosstagerace
Sometimes winning still feels strange to me. I line up knowing there are riders with bigger engines.
But bike racing isn’t just about who is strongest. It’s about who reads the moment and commits when it matters.
This weekend, that was me.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but there are 30 days left until we Spring Forward! We are well past Winter Solstice, and I look at this cycle of nature as light overcoming darkness. Get ready. #renewal #fromwhereiride
New year, same old me.
Capped off a holiday trip home for Christmas and New Year’s with a race in Miami. Racing in January is a little ridiculous, but that’s how Miami rolls.
Grateful for time with family, seeing old friends, and finishing the trip the best way I know how. Grit, determination, and doing what I love, winning a bike race solo.
