The Bound Narratives Photobook workshop was held at 32Bis in Tunis from November 1st to November 18th. The workshop was led by Tamara Abdul Hadi, Roï Saade, and Zied Ben Romdhane. Eleven artists participated in an intensive book-making workshop that began with participatory presentations from both mentors and mentees, followed by a series of group editing and sequencing sessions, and concluded with one-on-one book design sessions with Roï Saade. The process culminated in the production of eleven remarkable book dummies.
This wonderful experience is a powerful example of the growing interest in gathering and making together. It also demonstrates the high level of photographic practice and creativity in the Arab world, talent that simply lacks sufficient platforms and resources to expand its production and circulation.
Thank you to Hela and Imen from @le32bis , Souheila from @b7l9_tunis and Moez from @bao_books for their help in planning and printing.
This workshop was supported by the @arabdocphotography Alumni Fellowship, a joint initiative by @afac.fund@princeclausfund and @magnumfoundation , in association with @forfreedoms

Throwback to A Photobook World 📕
Curated by @roisaade & @tamarabdul , this exhibition showcased 30 photobooks from across the Middle East and North Africa, with 12 highlighted across three thematic capsules: Longing & Belonging, Upheaval, and ReImagining Histories.
From Tunisia to Egypt, emerging and established artists brought personal and collective stories to life, with selected prints displayed in dialogue alongside each book. The parcours—designed by @tom.egoumenides —invited visitors into an intimate, home-inspired journey, complete with a central “reading room” for shared discovery.
Step into the world of photobooks and explore our vibrant public program—roundtables, book launches, guided tours, and more!

Welcome to A Photobook World
On view at B7L9 until November 2
Opening Hours: Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 7pm
This exhibition seeks to center the photobook — not simply as an object, but as a movement. It explores how images in book form shift meaning, challenge histories, and articulate new visions of the world and the self.
Through this lens, the photobook becomes both archive and experiment, bridging personal memory with collective imagination. Each work invites you to slow down, turn the pages, and discover how photography transforms when it leaves the wall for the book.
We invite you to immerse yourself in the exhibition, and spend some time in the Bound Narratives Library — a dedicated space for reading, reflection, and discovery.
SRISA Gallery, in collaboration with @middleastnow.festival , are excited to present award-winning photographer Tanya Traboulsi’s exhibition Beirut, Recurring Dream, curated by Roï Saade | Opening October 9, 6:00 PM.
Traboulsi, the recipient of the 2025 V&A Parasol Foundation Prize for Women in Photography, returns to the city she left as a child. Through photographs and archives, she explores Beirut as both familiar and strange, layered with loss, longing, and fragile beauty. The work resists stereotypes, presenting a city that refuses resolution—an attempt to create an archive of feelings, where memory and emotion shape a landscape of belonging.
🗓️ October 9 - October 29
