🌟 Hi everyone! I’d like to share my journey in agriculture from Idaho to NYC! 🎬🌱
I grew up in Idaho, raised by a visionary plant breeder and a talented piano teacher. From an early age, I learned the importance of research and innovation, thanks to my father’s groundbreaking work with the sugar snap pea. My passion for filmmaking eventually led me to NYC, where I found commercial success. (also including) a dream with multiple films being showcased at the Guggenheim Museum.
After my father’s passing in 2017, I returned to Idaho to support the family business, realizing how vital it was to engage full time with a legacy project. Once the business was in good hands, I made my way back to NYC to be with my daughter.
Throughout my journey, I’ve found a connection between the worlds of film and agriculture, driven by networking, hard work, innovation, leadership, and an unyielding desire to succeed. 🌟💪🎥
During my time in agriculture, I had the opportunity to implement systems that bridged the gap from R&D to commercialization, focusing on developing novel pea varieties that were previously undervalued in the market. I created a robust research program and strategically launched new products, establishing and nurturing key relationships that helped prove market viability and visibility.
I also consulted with global production teams on their needs and troubleshooting, while fostering essential partnerships for commercial scalability. Rashid Johnson’s 30 years of vision and passion is currently on exhibit @guggenheim till January ‘26. I’ve been fortunate to have lent an eye to his unique cinematic approach.
