Our hotline is a community resource - we want folks to use it! Here is some info on when/how to use the hotline so we all can keep our community safe from ICE and Border Patrol in Rochester, Monroe County, and the surrounding areas. Alt text accompanies each slide.
On May 14, 2026, ICE detained 8 Geneva, NY, neighbors at around 7 a.m. at two separate locations. Four were detained on Pulteney Street near Cortland Street. Our neighbors were on the way to work. A witness reported seeing 9 unmarked vehicles. Agents were wearing vests that said “Police,” but were not Geneva Police Department officers.
Four people were detained at Byrne Dairy on Castle St., with 2 unmarked compact vehicles with flashers and possibley a large white SUV.
The arrests follow recent patterns that likely indicate surveillance of migrant neighbors on their morning drives to work. We advise remaining alert and observing your surroundings. Consider taking alternative routes to work and vary your routines to break your patterns.
FLXRRN condemns the arrest of workers, the disruption of our cities and towns, the interference in our local economies, and the terrible and negative impacts on our neighbors’ families and our community.

El día 14 de mayo, la Migra detuvo a 8 vecinos de Geneva, NY, a las 7 AM aproximadamente en dos sitios diferentes. Cuatro fueron detenidos en la calle de Pulteney cerca de la calle Cortland. Nuestros vecinos se iban a trabajar. Un testigo avisó que vió 9 carros sin marca de distinción. Los agentes llevaban chalecos que decían “Police” pero no eran agentes de policía de la ciudad de Geneva.
Cuatro personas fueron detenidos en el Byrne Dairy en la calle Castle, con dos vehículos no marcados y tal vez una SUV blanco grande.

🚨RESIST COP CITY🚨
Taxes on the working class increase and yet social services are cut while the police receive more funding. We’ve seen it time and time again, and it’s happening here in WNY.
Join grassroots organization LOLA (Liberation for Liberation for All) and Rochester organizers for a teach-in on a proposed copy city on the East Side of Buffalo. The teach-in will be followed by a letter writing session aiming to put pressure on LiRo, the engineering firm that has been contracted to build this unpopular facility. LiRo has offices spread across the country, including one in Rochester.
This matters to Rochester too! A facility of this scale could be rented out by the city to help train law enforcement officers across the state. There’s the possibility this facility could be used by ICE, a threat to all our immigrant neighbors across Upstate NY. LiRo closed their doors on Buffalo community members who expressed concern. Who’s to say they won’t do the same in Rochester on a future project?
Stand in solidarity with our neighbors in WNY and help us resist Cop City and the continued militarization of the police.

This past Tuesday, March 10th, Rochester for Energy Democracy (RED) was busy attending the massive Defend NY event in Albany, as well as a Monroe County public hearing. One was a huge coalition effort of over one thousand New-Yorkers from across the state, advocating for a slew of issues including protection from ICE, progressive taxation, and defending environmental justice, and the other was a heartened plea from RED, advocating for greater accountability for RG&E, and a study for a real alternative to a profit-sucking utility company.
Both of these events are part of larger movements across NY, of people fighting for the means and justice of powering the future. Powerful, monied interests like those behind new data-centers, and RG&E, have forced expensive expansions on the infrastructure that come at the expense of tax payers, the environment, and our families
