This week we talked about the case of Way Quoe Long, an immigrant from Laos, Way has been incarcerated since 1996 on a marijuana growing offense. Below are links to more information on the case, words from Way and an address to mail him letters, money or books. Please read and educate yourself on what our country has done to this man. He is serving his time in THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA! WHERE WEED CAN LEGALLY BE DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR.
Words from Way:
âHello Beth
How are you and everyone? This place processed about 1,000 immigration people the last couple days. Life in prison for me didn't change much the past 20 years, week days morning are spend in the law library, afternoons are spend in the band room or teaching music. My wife and sons followed their grand parent in the restrauant business, my youngest brother had a business tracking semi trucks, and former Brazilian prisoners. If I were to be release, with financial help from my youngest brother I'll start a small business manufacture specialty musical items, and open the facility after school hours as a free technical training and music center for teenagers interested in manufacturing and music. When I first came to the U.S. in 1975, most of my after school hours are spent at the local recreation center, which offered nothing but a place for the teenagers to hangs out.
I most likely go in a recording studio to record the music I wrote while incarcerated and go on the road, if I were to be released, then start the small business.
Peace and Loveâ

This week on Highly Regarded we talked about the case of Parker Antron Coleman.
Working on this podcast for almost a year, Iâve read a lot of these cases to prep them for the episodes. Parkerâs case has always stuck out in my mind. Parker was put behind bars at 25, charged with a CONSPIRACY to distribute marijuana and launder money in a case with no physical evidence (only testimony of others arrested), he was charged with 60 years and as of now will not be a free man till the age of 85. Links to more information below. Most importantly, it took me a couple days to post this to finish up with some research. Parker LOVES getting letters in the mail. You can send him books, money, or art as well! I will be posting all information needed to send mail through the Federal Prison system on a story highlight here and on @highlyregardedpodcast
When I think of the war on drugs I no longer think of thousands of people incarcerated on marijuana charges. I think of Parker Antron Coleman. I think of Gaetan Dinelle or Corvain Cooper. We can not forget these people and we can not let them feel forgotten.
Educate yourself, sign petitions, donate, send a letter, lets all try to do one thing that could help. We would be amazed by the difference we could make.
