The ways in which Cuban-Spanish actress Ana de Armas was able to embody #MarilynMonroe in the upcoming #Netflix film #Blonde goes without saying. After set photos and the official trailer were released in late July, it became clear the crew had succeeded in casting the lead role to resemble one of #America's most notable figures, but one could argue, none of that comes together without Marilyn's signature look. The synergy between the actor, the hair, and makeup is what ultimately makes the illusion believable.
@kirbiejohnson spoke with makeup department head @tinaroeslerkerwin , hair department head @jaimeleigh.hair , and LA-based wig maker @robpickens to learn about turning de Armas into Monroe, and it's clear that the team was able to tackle challenges along the way while ensuring that the beauty and charm of Norma Jeane was not lost in Ana de Armas.
