Can't wait for February? 🤔
This Saturday, in honour of the spookiest of seasons, we invite you to witness The Elvis Dead - Cult classic horror movie Evil Dead 2 reinterpreted through the songs of Elvis 🎙️
Elvis Presley is the quintessential rock star icon and Bruce Campbell is the quintessential B-movie horror icon. Comedian Rob Kemp is not an icon as far as he knows, but he does love Elvis and horror, and has been told that he bears a passing resemblance to Bruce Campbell.
The Elvis Dead started as a throwaway comment in a comedy greenroom and is the very definition of taking a joke too far, so don your sequinned jumpsuit, strap a camera to a greased-up two-by-four and sing your way through as much of the plot of Evil Dead 2 as you can in an hour.

Humble Brag - 100 shows not out!
So Wednesday was some milestone.
100th show. The incredible @katethehammer at The Monkey Barrel, Government Approved Comedian. What a talent.
99th - The Rise Of The Eagles - The premier live Eagles tribute experience at the moment. Thanks to @nightowlshows for squeezing me in when my planned shows leading lady was struck down ill.
98th - Sam Lake @mrsamlake - A 5 star performance for not only a great comedian, this show elevates him to a new level in storytelling.
And as a treat instead of a sneaky bag of chips on the way home caught the incredible @robotkemp WIP show Beatles Juice. Incredible, so much fun. The crowd was dancing in the isles and singing along. This year's show find for late night entertainment.
Oh, and the shock in the morning to find out the team for @one4review were nominated for a Panel Prize at ISH comedy .
All reviews are available on the One4Review site.
So at the time of writing I think I sit around 110 and still have more amazing acts to see before the end of The Fringe.
Thank you to all the acts that have allowed @one4review into your world this August.
Finally, a special shot out to @olaffalafel for providing my Where's Wally outfit which I nicked from his washing line. High fashion never gets out of style.
BEATLESJUICE! "Cult classic comedy horror movie Beetlejuice retold through the songs of The Beatles."
And yes, it was as mad as as brilliant as it sounds. The Burtonesque black and white flyer caught my eye on day 2 of my Fringe trip, and instantaneously, I placed it at the top of my hit list.
This was an early Work in Progress (WIP) of this one man show, and despite a few forgotten lyrics and tech gremlins, Rob Kemp's warmth, charm and obvious love for the subject matter won us all over entirely and made us cheer him on throughout, on what turned out to be an insanely fun night out.
In true Tim Burton style, there were ridiculous hand-made props and costumes to compliment Rob's cleverly edited visuals from the original 80's classic, and his juicily reworked Beatles back catalogue.
Was very happy with the added subtitles and invitation for crowd participation, which elevated the experience and made it feel like we were all in on the gag. Felt like a right silly, gothic karaoke at times.
Go get involved and help bring it to life/from the afterlife.
Would love to bring this to the museum one day! Would you come if I did?!
