Woah! New work for @bbcthree ! ๐Ÿ‘‰โœŒ๐Ÿ– I directed and co-wrote around 60 individual idents for the relaunch of BBC Three featuring this gloriously immature trio of 3D hands. I even named them- Captain โœŒ, Spider ๐Ÿ–, and Pointer ๐Ÿ‘‰. There are a bunch more idents to come, but this is my absolute favourite here; Under the Waves. It was such a @blink_ink bonanza, I got to work with so many cool people, in fact here are some credits: Director: @robostrange Executive Producer: @bartyates76 Producer: Rebecca Little @rebeccablittle Hand Actors- Jonny and Will @jonnyandwillstuff 3D Hand design - Toby Barnett @hyperslice Dirk van Dulmen- Storyboards @dirkvandulmen Mysie Pereira- Storyboards and animatics @mysiepereira Thomas Harnett Oโ€™Meara- Storyboards and animatics @thomas_harnett_omeara Composer: Benjamin 'Fryarsโ€™ Garrett @fryars Script writing- Robert Strange, Renee Zhan @ummmrenee , Natasha Hodgson, Chris Bristow @dadhat , Sam Campbell @mcdonaldscomedy And of course, our scores of collaborators at: @superunionhq @bbccreative @officialghostvfx @thefarmgroup Go check them out... on an actual TV!

๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿง€๐Ÿง€๐Ÿง€ More new work! ๐Ÿง€๐Ÿง€๐Ÿง€๐Ÿ˜‡ Another cool adult-animation style spot I directed for the ongoing comedy/horror series that is Mini Cheddars Cheddar Town. This one has a bunch of Edgar Wright style quick swoopy cuts, and I watched the skydiving scenes in Point Break five hundred times to figure out how to make our hero cheese fall to his death at just the right angle. Directed by @robostrange via @blink_ink . . Producer: Dom Thompson-Talbot @lahdidahdom Illustrator: @yimeisgreat @hellorobflowers Animators: @rob.find , @pecosaelenab , @giuliafrixione , Clean/Colours: @peter_chownsmith , @_fredgriffiths Compositors: @tomffisher , Jon Gallagher Storyboards: @dirkvandulmen

๐ŸคฏNEW WORK๐Ÿ”ฅ - I directed this amazing Step Out of the Ordinary spot for BBC Radio 6. Itโ€™s a surreal journey through five design/animation styles from bed to breakfast over an amazing soundtrack. So cool to work with the BBC again. Check it out! Another piece from Saturday Night Live. I find designing this kind of UI stuff super relaxing - making all the little buttons, choosing the colours, adding borders and drop shadow, writing the copy. This is in a similar vein to the video I made for Hot Chip when we remixed their song 'Spell', expanding on the bizarre DankMedia brand we originally created for our smash Superorganism hit 'Everybody Wants to Be Famous'.

Some silly mograph from Saturday Night Live - and a flashback to 2017, where my special interest in recreating computer interfaces began... Superorganism Fanfiction ๐Ÿ‹

The allegations are true, I practised the ancient art of VFX on Saturday Night Live UK over the weekend. Very fun to work on something so silly. ๐Ÿค“๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป๐ŸŽ‡

Acting is the silliest thing. You're an adult man late at night in a car park wearing a transparent plastic raincoat with slicked back hair and a goatee, pretending to be a slightly different adult man hiring a robotic hitman to kill his father. It's a cool skill cos you never really fall out of practice. After I finished my theatre degree I made a conscious decision to turn away from acting and focus fully on music (good call!), but it's something that keeps coming back. My experience as an actor informs my directing a lot - I tend to think it's all down to really basic stuff: know your lines, believe in the script, speak clearly. The rest is just practice, natural ability, and taking two steps forward at the beginning of every single line.

From our film 'Daddy'. I love this character so much. He's a chain-smoking robot hitman who speaks in riddles and slips into a deep hallucinatory sleep every 30 seconds. Influenced by those freaky dreaming replicants from Blade Runner, every Noel Fielding character in the Mighty Boosh, and the T-800 after it's seen way too many miles. Do androids dream of a white linen suit?
