It’s an honor to debut the work Jørgen Noodt Skjærvold and I created for The Samuel and Ronnie Heyman Family Art Lab at MoMA. “Synthesis Playground” is an interactive installation that invites visitors of all ages to engage with the mesmerizing interplay of generative video and audio synthesis. Rooted in our live performance collaborations, this work reimagines the tools we use—distilling the complexity of video programming and modular synthesizer patching into an intuitive and accessible creative instrument. Visitors are empowered to craft their own audiovisual compositions, unlocking boundless possibilities for expression and experimentation. I’m deeply excited to see the unique and unexpected creations that emerge. Open to MoMA members this weekend and to the general public starting Monday, November 25th as part of the show “Sound“ in the Art Lab found on the 1st floor right off of the sculpture garden. His background in dance, and his upbringing in Northern India and New Mexico heavily influence his collaborative work. Robin has designed at PSNY, The Huntington, The Atlantic, Mabou Mines, National Sawdust, MoSex, The Whitney, etc. and he has collaborated with artists including Ali Cherri, Julie Tolentino, Raven Chacon, Colin Self, Ron Athey, rafa esparza, and Sister Sylvester. Additionally, Robin founded MERDE, an underground performance series in Brooklyn and Queens. Performances run January 11-21. Ticket link in bio. ⁠
