The tour comes to an end in Rome - fitting. Heaps of photos, notes, sketches and a whole new perspective on how the classics have inspired our buildings and cities.
The first part of our small GT (Grand tour). So far we’ve admired works by A. Palladio, Carlo Scarpa, Tadao Ando and Brunelleschi. A couple days in Florence to let it all sink in, next up Rome.
Slowness is a lesson I’m carrying into this year. For someone who often feels to be in a damn hurry, I’m glad to say I’ve finally learned to slow down, even if only a little. In that slower pace, I’ve had a great year full of beautiful moments. Thank you all!
This is my entry for #120mini2025.
The brief was to listen to a given 40 second composition and create a space inspired by the sound.
foghorn
A forgotten, abandoned lighthouse, perforated and fitted with a soundstage to capture the sea. A multipurpose structure for deep contemplation, sitting in the ambience of the horizon and wind, or a venue where ambient artists can gather and share their compositions in a truly singular setting and atmosphere. Adjustable acoustic panels line the interior like gills, subtly opening and closing to tune the room, sometimes for quiet listening, sometimes to hold a shared performance. @120hours
5 day creative retreat. The long overdue bamboo rod building workshop turned into a surprisingly insightful and inspiring reset. Putting your hands to work does wonders for the mind.
Fall leaves with Joel in UKK. We did Kiilopää-Rautulampi-Luiro-Suomunruokto-Kiilopää, very wet arrival with nice skies and sun for the rest of the trip.
