- RA series True Vintage Revival® X Robin Studio 日本のハンドメイドアイウェアブランド True Vintage Revival（TVR）とのコラボレーションにより、互いの創作言語をさらに深化させた。本ビジュアルデザインは、ブランドを象徴する唐草彫刻のコア構造を起点とし、それを発想の中心に据えている。波のように広がり続ける唐草のパターンは、ロビンを象徴する「龍舌蘭の植物文明」を中心に、外へ向かって増殖し、拡張していく。 この“拡がり”は、単なる造形的な展開にとどまらず、時間の中で進み続ける二つのブランドの軌跡そのものでもある。交錯し、浸透し合うことで、それぞれの世界観は次第に接続され、コラボレーションを通してさらに増幅されていく。 メインビジュアルは、異文化的な気配を帯びた表現を採用し、長い年月を経てきたかのような古い絨毯の質感を再現している。一つひとつの文様、一つひとつのディテールは、時間と手仕事によって縫い重ねられてきた痕跡のように存在する。幾重にも積層されたその構造の中で、この華麗でありながら絶えず成長し続ける植物文明が、静かに形作られていく。 ——————- In collaboration with the Japanese handmade eyewear brand True Vintage Revival (TVR), this project further deepens the creative language shared between both sides. The visual design takes the brand’s signature arabesque-carved core structure as its point of departure, establishing it as the central concept. Like waves in motion, the ever-expanding arabesque patterns grow outward from Robin’s iconic “Agave Civilization,” extending and proliferating from its core. The main visual adopts an exotic cultural tone, evoking the texture of an ancient carpet shaped by the passage of time. Every motif and every detail reads like a trace of labor and duration—stitched and layered through time by hand. COMRADE joins forces with Taiwanese ceramic artist Robin Huang @robinceramicstudio and local music collective 0159 Group @0159group to present a cross-disciplinary sensory experience at Soho House, Sheung Wan. In the afternoon, step into Robin Huang’s ceramic universe: a debut large-scale sculpture, purchase of Robin’s new artworks, and a curated selection of new and past ceramic works. As night falls, 0159 Group takes over with a Secret DJ Lineup, delivering an intimate yet powerful dose of underground electronic music. Exclusive Merge merchandise will be available on the day. Origin: Bera, Pahang, Malaysia Flavor Profile: 73% dark chocolate infused with gula melaka. Creative Thoughts: This is where chocolate becomes a canvas. The packaging draws you in through its richly detailed monochrome illustration—ornate, textured, and filled with character. It feels like a forgotten artifact unearthed from an old archive, carefully reimagined for the present day. At the center stands AGAVE FAITH, symbolizing nature’s unpredictability, imperfection, and uniqueness. - True Vintage Revival® @tvropt @tvropt_taiwan X Robin Studio “Civilization of Agave - Karakusa” Inspired by the iconic karakusa engravings found on the core wire of TVR handmade eyewear, this work reinterprets the textures and layered craftsmanship of leather sculpture through ceramic art. The greatest challenge was expressing the softness of leather and the flowing expansion of karakusa patterns within rigid clay. At the same time, the piece reflects Robin’s ongoing philosophy — to continuously move forward, expand, and challenge the unknown. Using aged clay and deep crimson crystalline glaze, multiple layers of staining and wiping techniques were applied to create a dry, timeworn texture reminiscent of aged leather. Through layered crimson tones, dark pigments settled within the carvings, and subtle oily reflections, the work carries the atmosphere of an excavated relic from an ancient plant civilization. . #tvr #karakusa #唐草 #truevintagerevival

- True Vintage Revival® @tvropt @tvropt_taiwan X Robin Studio “Civilization of Agave - Karakusa” 本作は、TVR のハンドメイドアイウェアを象徴する芯金の唐草彫刻をモチーフとし、 さらにレザースカルプチャー工芸から着想を得て制作された作品である。 天然皮革が持つ素地の質感、そして幾度にもわたる彫刻・成形・染色工程によって生まれる層や肌理を参照し、それらを陶芸彫刻として再解釈した。 今回もっとも大きな挑戦となったのは、硬質な陶土という素材の中に、革本来の柔らかさ、そして唐草模様が絶えず増殖し続けるような流動感を表現することだった。 それは同時に、Robin がこれまで一貫して語り続けてきたブランド精神—— 絶えず前進し、広がり続け、未知へ挑み続ける姿勢とも重なっている。 熟成土と赤紅色の結晶釉を組み合わせ、 今回はこれまで以上に複雑な焼成工程を試みた。 幾重にも異なる染色や拭き取りを重ねることで、従来の陶芸作品とは異なる、まるで古い革のような柔らかく乾いた質感と、時間を感じさせる色調を生み出している。 濃淡の異なる赤、溝に沈殿した暗色の模様、 そして油分が革へ染み込んだような鈍い光沢の変化によって、 作品全体はまるで古代植物文明から発掘された遺物のような空気感を纏っている。 . #tvr #karakusa #唐草 #truevintagerevival

- The design of the “Wau Heritage Cap” incorporates Malaysia’s traditional cultural symbol — the Wau Bulan (Moon Kite) — as its core visual element. More than a decorative motif, it represents Robin’s vision of connecting and blending cultures from around the world. I have always believed that through the integration of local cultures, craft languages, and regional visual aesthetics, a work can become a medium that transcends borders and cultural backgrounds. Because of this, the “Wau” series preserves the original spirit and character of traditional patterns, while merging them with the worldview and visual language that Robin Studio has continuously developed over time. I’m truly grateful that the first batch of the “Wau” series is now close to being sold out. - RA series @yu_shape X Robin Studio He is the first artist I ever collaborated with. Around four to five years ago, we began by developing a hand-forged brass soil scoop—marking my first step into working across different materials. This time, I invited him to reinterpret the “Agave Civilization – Head Totem” through his signature metal craftsmanship. Built upon a familiar visual language and a foundation of mutual trust, the work naturally merges our techniques and aesthetics. As time moves forward, I believe our craftsmanship will become more refined, and our style more distinct. But some things will never change—our friendship and the trust between us. Grateful to my old friend for taking the time to create this piece.
