bring your family to work week! it was so awesome having my parents in LA visiting + getting a little taste of music producer life. (it was also 5 degrees on the east coast so 70 and sunny didn’t hurt) their unwavering support on this journey is one of the biggest reasons i get to do what i love every day. i made a few #1’s in their basement next to what felt like an unlimited supply of pasta (not an ad, wish it was), so i was pumped to show them the studio and how we make records now they also got to see @aj_mclean and @backstreetboys at @spherevegas and we all know how good that was thanks mom and dad! #robmadethis #studiolifestyle #backstreetboys

Fun fact, wrote this chord progression on piano before turning it into guitar for the writing session that turned into “can’t love you anymore”. #newmusic - @aj_mclean “can’t love you anymore” I’ve always believed A&R is one of the most important skills for great producers. They go hand in hand for me. I take pride in never forgetting songs I love, no matter when they were made. When Alex and I started working together and building his solo project world, I was constantly brainstorming records that could be a great fit for him (in addition to all the exciting new stuff we were writing). Can’t Love You Anymore was always a special one, written with some of my fav people @teddyswims @natecyph @rileybiederer . I loved the emotion and urgency of this record, and knew Alex’s classic vocal + performance would feel so authentic and powerful. He made it his own in the best way. We made some song key adjustments to make sure the hook landed in a desperate, gritty place in Alex’s voice, updated production to fit the direction of the album, and boom- Can’t Love You Anymore is yours! #ajmclean #cantloveyouanymore #teddyswims #robmadethis
