A new gallery in NoMad opens a window into the world of interior designer
@robertstilinshop .
Before there was a West Elm or a Williams Sonoma in every major city, Stilin was selling furniture from his Palm Beach concept store in the 1990s, later opening a similar space in the Hamptons. After moving to New York City and finding success crafting aspirational residential interiors, the idea of reopening a shop was quietly put on hold.
Over the years, however, Stilin continued collecting furniture and home dĂŠcor from dealers, artists and designers around the world. Now that long-held vision takes shape with the opening of the Robert Stilin Shop, a curated gallery dedicated to custom upholstered furniture, antique and vintage pieces, 21st-century design, collectible furniture, lighting, objects and art.
Located in the St James Building in NoMad, on the same floor as Stilinâs interior design office, the corner space is filled with pre-war charm and natural light. The gallery feels like an extension of his creative vision, offering clients and designers a place to view pieces in person and experience the designerâs distinctive eye.
Every object reflects relationships built over more than 30 years and a design philosophy grounded in authenticity, comfort and function.
