Talent is everywhere.
Opportunity is not.
From intern → Spelman College → Harvard Law → practicing attorney.
This is what happens when access, mentorship, and belief meet preparation.
Investing in education and opening doors isn’t charity — it’s nation-building.
The next generation is ready.
Congratulations #kennedymackey
@studentfreedomorg
Amazing Moment … 🙏🏽
We just announced the lineup for @studentfreedomorg ’s AWAREFEST in Atlanta — featuring @cocojones , @jeezy , @2chainz , @metroboomin , @temsbaby and more 🔥🔥🔥
All coming together to raise funds for SFI’s affordable alternative to student loans.
HBCUs have always been powerful engines of opportunity, yet too many students graduate buried in debt. Too many institutions are forced to compete without the resources they truly deserve. And when HBCUs struggle, entire communities feel that impact — innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership… it all gets slowed down.
AWAREFEST changes that.
This movement brings music, culture and purpose together to fuel real change. Every dollar raised goes toward expanding income-contingent student funding and strengthening HBCUs so they can thrive, compete, and keep shaping the next generation of leaders.
Next spring, we’re turning Atlanta into a celebration with a purpose — where the culture shows up and gives back.
Proud to partner with @livenationurban , the City of Atlanta, and @andreforatlanta to make this vision real.
Join us March 26 in Atlanta.
Be part of the movement.
Be part of the impact. ✊🏾🔥
Huge congratulations to my dear friend Robert F. Smith on the release of his new book, Lead Boldly: Seven Principles from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Available now — comment BOOK and I’ll send you the link. 📖
Robert is truly one of the most brilliant, driven, and purpose-filled leaders I know. From humble beginnings to building Vista Equity Partners into a $100B+ powerhouse, Robert has never stopped lifting others as he rises.
In Lead Boldly, @robertfredericksmith explores a vision of servant leadership rooted not only in returns, but in responsibility. A force that seeks to shape a better world.
The lessons in this book are essential for any leader serious about fulfilling Dr. King’s dream of true economic opportunity and equality.
Robert was actually there at the 1963 March on Washington — brought by his mother as an infant — where Dr. King delivered his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech.
🔥 That moment lit a fire in him that still burns bright today.
I had the honor of sitting down with Robert for the very first episode of my new podcast 🎙️The Holy Grail of Investing.
Watch the conversation while you wait for your copy!
Congratulations again, my friend! This book is a powerful contribution and a must-read for anyone ready to lead with courage, clarity, and impact.
Robert F. Smith is an American investor, philanthropist and entrepreneur. He leads Vista Equity Partners, a global technology investor that specializes in enterprise software.
Smith will have a moderated book discussion on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 5:30 PM at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated more than 55 years ago, yet his words continue to inspire millions of people, young and old—from all races and backgrounds. During his remarkable life, he embodied bold and compassionate leadership and achieved a level of influence few thought possible for a Black man born in Atlanta just before the Great Depression.
Now, aspiring leaders can reflect on some of Dr. King’s most impactful speeches and integrate his lessons into their modern leadership journeys. Robert F. Smith, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Vista Equity Partners, offers his own insights and experiences on each passage on how themes like “The Beloved Community”, “Economic Justice”, and “Two Americas” played a central role in his own leadership development and why the visionary ideas Dr. King espoused are so important for leaders to understand and apply today.
