This Motherâs Day weekend, we came together to honor mothers, celebrate families, and create space for healing, joy, and connection.
âHonoring Mothers, Cherishing Familiesâ was more than an event , it was a beautiful reminder of the power of community, wellness, and love.
A special thank you to all of the organizations and partners for helping make this experience possible.

MaternalWellness
The numbers tell a story, but they donât tell the whole truth.
Black women are 2-3x more likely to experience pregnancy-related complications.
This isnât just data. This is people. This is families.
What solutions do you think need more attention?
#BlackMaternalHealthWeek #HealthJustice
Access changes everything.
Through programs like internXL and partnerships that uplift HBCU students, weâre helping build pathways to opportunity, not just careers. The future is already here. Weâre just making sure itâs funded.

May is about more than awareness, itâs about action.
Black maternal health is a crisis we canât ignore. Every mother deserves safe, equitable care,no exceptions.
This month, weâre spotlighting stories, solutions, and the work being done to close the gap.
What does maternal health equity mean to YOU?
#BlackMaternalHealth #HealthEquity #Fund2Foundation
#BlackMaternalHealthWeek was born from Black women who refused to accept that our lives are disposable and who chose to build something different instead.
Today weâre honoring Dr. Joia Crear-Perry, founding Steering Committee member of the @blackmamasmatter Black Mamas Matter Alliance. In her own words, she had to unlearn that âbeing Blackâ is a risk factor and name what it really is: racism, not race.
Her children and grandson are her Black birth story of hope a reminder that the future is the hope, and that Black families deserve to thrive, not just survive.
As #BMHW26 calls us to be Rooted in Justice & Joy, BMHequity is carrying that vision into Rooted in Healing; building spaces, stories, and tech that honor the futures Dr. Joia is talking about.
Drop a đif youâre with us in fighting for a future where every Black birth is met with safety, dignity, and joy.

Impact looks like this. đąâ¨
From the Rooted in Healing Pop-up to the Flower Bar, VR wellness, and our âAsk a Doc, Midwife & Doulaâ space, Impact Fest Saturday at HBCU AwareFest was all about centering Black birthing people, students, and families in joy and justice.
So grateful to stand shoulderâtoâshoulder with this brilliant team and the incomparable Erika Alexander as we give Black women and birthing people their flowers nowâand build Tech For Us, not on us.
Swipe through to see the community, the creators, and the moments that rooted us in healing.

Rooted, joyful, and so full after Impact Fest at HBCU @awarefestival
Today we saw Black students, families, doulas, midwives and organizers come together to enjoy the Rooted in Healing experience, ask real questions, spin the wheel, give each other flowers, and imagine a different future for Black birthing people.
This is what Tech For Us looks like, built in community, grounded in care, and powered by our stories.
If you were in the space with us, thank you for bringing your energy, your questions, and your hope. If you missed it, stay tunedâŚweâre just getting started.
