Re-Thatched Cabinet, created for @sothebys for their Crafted programme taking place this week for @londoncraftweek . (11-17 May)
Crafted from English Olive Ash and Suffolk Squarehead Master Thatching Straw. Sourced from @tyler.hardwoods and @smallsuffolkfarmer respectively.
This piece is an evolution of the Re-Thatched Shelves and looks to continue to celebrate the art, materials, forms and practice of thatching.
I’m thrilled and feeling very honoured to announce that my work ‘Re-Thatched’ has been nominated House & Garden Craft Prize 2026 @houseandgardenuk
It’s such a pleasure working with straw and the processes of thatching to create these pieces, and to be placed beside such amazing artists is very exciting. The finalists’ exhibition will be on view for public display at Sotheby’s Mayfair from 11-17 May during London Craft Week.
The 2026 House & Garden Craft Prize is supported by @mulberryengland , with strategic partners @sothebys and @craftscouncil

I am very excited to share that I have been shortlisted for the John Ruskin Art Prize 2026. I am so happy this piece got selected it was probably my favourite make so far, I loved that every piece was unique and required a massive scale of adjustment and problem solving at each stage. Made from split planks of wild cherry tree this chair is honest and true to its material and the beauty of that material shines through.
The John Ruskin Prize 2026 will take place at Trinity Buoy Wharf from Thursday 29 January to Saturday 21 February 2026.
The exhibition is free to enter, and will be open Wednesday-Sunday each week, from 11-5pm on weekdays, and 10-5pm on weekends.
Carved with Fire
The Pimlico Craft Chairs
The third in the range of The Pimlico Craft Chairs. A design inspired from a friend’s chair devoted to their crafting practice.
Following on from my Carved with Fire Throne, this chair is constructed from burnt beach with texture and contrast burnt into the timber. Building on the destructive nature of fire to create a unique and highly textural chair.

Makers Marks
The Pimlico Craft Chairs
The second in the range of The Pimlico Craft Chairs. A design inspired from a friend’s chair devoted to their crafting practice.
Made from oak, and adorned with my handprints as I make the chair. At every stage of this process I apply ebonizing solution to my hands which in turn reacts with the tanins in the oak to leave these dark marks of where I have handled and worked the wood.

On Wednesday, I was honoured to have my piece Re-Thatched awarded Best in Show at the New Furniture Makers Exhibition with @furnituremakerscompany . It was a privilege to be recognised among so many extraordinary works by talented artists, designers and makers. I’m excited for what lies ahead, continuing to develop this concept and others, exploring new approaches to furniture-making, and deepening my learning from the rich traditions of craft, both past and present.
Shout out to my good friend @lilyhitchcockdesign who won Best Chair in Show!
You can catch her chair, some other pieces of mine and many more wonderful pieces at the Garrison Chapel in Chelsea from 4 - 14th October. More details to come.
