North Carolina, you showed up BIG for children in foster care! 👏 Our Comfort Cases team hit the road and teamed up with our incredible partners at Blue Cross NC Healthy Blue to pack 300 Comfort Cases for children experiencing foster care across the state. Because every child deserves more than a trash bag, they deserve dignity, comfort, and hope. A huge shoutout to the amazing organizations helping get these cases into the hands of children who need them most: ✨ Person County DSS ✨ Wilson County DSS ✨ KidsPeace ✨ Wake County Social Services ✨ CHS ✨ Hope Center at Pullen Together, we’re proving that compassion travels fast, and hope packs light. 💙 Thank you for helping us remind children in foster care that they are seen, valued, and deeply cared for. #ComfortCases #FosterCare #DignityForChildren #NorthCarolina

Foster Care Facts: Myth: Foster parents have to be “perfect” to make a difference. Fact: Children in foster care are not looking for perfection — they are looking for safety, consistency, patience, and love. Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can change the course of a child’s life forever. Myth: One person or one family can’t really make an impact in foster care. Fact: Every single person who steps up matters. Whether you foster, mentor, volunteer, donate, or simply advocate — you are showing a child they are worthy of being seen, valued, and loved. There are still over 390,000 children in foster care in the United States tonight. Too many will carry their belongings in trash bags. Too many will wonder if anyone truly cares. We can change that — together. #fostercare #comfortcases #nomoretrashbags #leadingbyexample #scheerfocus

There are partnerships… and then there are relationships that truly change lives. This trip to North Carolina was one of those reminders for me. To finally hug my friend Whitney in person after so many conversations meant more than she probably knows. And watching the incredible team at Healthy Blue show up with such heart, passion, and commitment for youth in foster care was powerful. Together, we packed hope. Together, we reminded children that they matter. Together, we proved what can happen when companies don’t just talk about community — they become part of it. I’m beyond grateful for partnerships like Healthy Blue that continue to step up, lean in, and help us ensure that no child has to carry their belongings in a trash bag. To every single person who packed, listened, shared, and loved on these children today… thank you. You are making a difference whether you realize it or not. #comfortcases #nomoretrashbags #leadingbyexample #community #fostercareawarenessmonth

This is the reality. 💔 This is what it looks like when I say the foster care system is broken. A young man raised in group homes, with no family to call, sitting in jail over a $250 bond. Not because nobody cared about him, but because the system stopped caring long before this moment.

In 2017, I shared these statistics during National Foster Care Awareness Month. Today, in 2026, some numbers may have shifted slightly… but the reality for far too many youth in foster care has not changed enough. Thousands of young people still age out of the system every single year without a permanent family, stable housing, or the support they deserve. Many still face homelessness, unemployment, mental health struggles, and overwhelming barriers to education. That should challenge every one of us. But here’s what I also know: I have seen incredible people, organizations, foster parents, advocates, and former foster youth step up and fight for change every single day. I’ve seen communities rally together to remind children they matter. I’ve seen hope win. The system may still be broken in many ways, but giving up is not an option. This National Foster Care Awareness Month, let’s continue to speak up, show up, and do the work. Because every child deserves safety. Every child deserves stability. Every child deserves someone who refuses to give up on them. And until that becomes reality for every youth in foster care… we keep going. #NationalFosterCareMonth #ComfortCases #NoMoreTrashBags #FosterCareAwareness #LeadingByExample Statistics around aging out, homelessness, and college graduation rates for foster youth remain alarmingly high according to recent foster care research and advocacy organizations.

Cloudy skies, delayed flights, long days… and still, there is nowhere else I’d rather be. Back at DCA heading to Durham, North Carolina to pack cases with our amazing partners at Healthy Blue. The travel can be nonstop, but knowing a child will receive something that says “you matter” makes every trip worth it. Keep showing up. Keep doing the work. ❤️ #comfortcases #nomoretrashbags #healthyblue #leadingbyexample #fostercareawareness

Youth in foster care in Tennessee could soon be sent to juvenile detention centers without being charged with a crime... Let that sink in. These are not “bad kids.” These are young people carrying trauma, loss, and pain who need safe homes, support, and compassion, not confinement. The real crisis is the lack of foster families and resources for children already failed by the system. We cannot punish youth for surviving tough circumstances. At Comfort Cases, we believe every child deserves dignity, hope, and love. What happens in Tennessee matters to ALL of us. Watch, share, and contact your elected officials to speak up for youth in foster care. #ComfortCases #FosterCare #ProtectChildren #ChildAdvocacy

Today was one of those days that reminds me exactly why I love this life. This morning I took a flight out to pack Comfort Cases with our amazing partners at Toyota, and now I’m heading back home only long enough to repack before flying back out again tomorrow. The schedule is nonstop, but every mile is worth it when you know you’re making a difference. And in the middle of all of it came one of the best moments a dad could ask for — Tristan hit personal best times in BOTH heats today! Knowing Reece was there cheering him on every step of the way made it even more special. No matter how busy life gets, family will always be the greatest part of my story. Tristan, we are so proud of your hard work, focus, and determination. Keep going, son. ❤️ #prouddads #familyfirst #trackandfield #comfortcases #leadingbyexample

The emotional impact can last a lifetime. 💙 This statistic highlights the trauma many youth in foster care experience and why awareness, support, compassion, and advocacy matter so much.
