I had an absolute blast at the @souwester this week for my birthday. As an artist in residence for @souwesterarts I made lots of sketches that will become inspiration for when in the studio. I also took the time to rest, be with my pup, and of course eat a ton of oysters! Was a good one! š
Just finished a week long artists residency at the @souwesterarts ! This trip was a journey into independence and self discovery. As some of you may know I have recently ended a 14 year relationship. Driving out with just me and pup was life changing. After processing the end of this chapter I decided it was time to return to myself. Iām now ready to dive deeper into my art practice and focus on self exploration. This week I learned to let go and move forward. Ironically enough this has all landed on the new year. So hereās to a successful 2026 full of art, self love, community, nature, and dog time!
Biggest of thank yous to @roaming_creator Megan Wainwright for hosting our Fall Zine Showcase @45thparallelwines as well as submitting her gorgeous waterfall painting āLiquid Ladyā that appears in this seasonās zine and lives at the wine bar she works at. Cheers! š·
Summer dreams come true! I highly recommend you donāt do what Iāve done this summer. Although all worth it despite the unhinged-ness of this all! Letās just say Iām ready for fall and some rest! š“
Iām so happy to have been invited back as a represented artist for @pickathon this year! This is my 9th year at Pickathon and every year is so special! For these sculptures I decided to make 6 abstract ferns illuminated with LED lights at night. I plasma cut everything with a @millerwelders and welded the sculptures with @lincolnelectric . Then towed them out to Pendarvis farm to install them amongst real ferns next to the wood stage. My favorite part was when @tajmahalblues played next to the sculptures and everyone gathered around them! Iām happy with how it turned out! Until next year Pickathon!
Forging ferns for the forest.
Visual artist Megan Wainwright (@roaming_creator ) is blending steel and soul for Pickathon 2025ācrafting welded fern sculptures that will glow with LEDs deep in the woods.
We followed Megan from the sparks of her shop to the spot where these glowing giants will soon rise. Learn more about all of our visual artists at pickathon.com.

Did my first vinyl DJ gig last night at Slims! I had a blast! I want to do more of this soon! I started the night with soul music, then went to Latin and Cumbia music, and finally some African stuff. So reach out if you have any connect to gigs!
.
Also shout out to my new friend Jacob who showed me how to use the turn tables! And was also a great collaborator!
Just did mini-artist residency at the @souwester / @souwesterarts and they taught me how to make these zines. Now Iām obsessed and want to make a ton of these!

I wanted to make a progress post about how my sculpture for @pickathon came together. I have been going to Pickathon for 8 years and with every experience of this festival I walk away so inspired by all the music and art! Iāve always been interested in involving myself in the creative/building side of this festival. For two years I helped Windmill build out a magical little chill area and stage. But I wanted more and honestly, it became an obsession to create my vision. So, through pure determination, I had the opportunity to connect with the right people who said āyesā to my proposal!
.
Iāve had a vision like this for forever. But I never had any reason to make something like this. I wanted to combine my skills of being a painter with my passion for welding fabrication. Iām so grateful and honored that Pickathon gave me that push to do this grand vision.
.
The process was so fun! My shopmate @cartesian.origins.503 and I collaborated on completing my idea. We hand-cut each piece with a plasma cutter by using @millerwelders . Fabricated a base that accommodated a forklift. And welded it all together with a @lincolnelectric . The process of doing this was beyond satisfying!
.
Seeing it displayed to the public made it even more of an enriching experience. People gathered and lounged around it. Iām so inspired by seeing this piece out in the world!
.
Now Iām exploding with ideas! Iāve never felt this motivated to keep going and making more art! This piece has changed the way I think about making art. In my mind, this is just the beginning. More to come! Are you ready?!

I am honored to have been invited by my dear friend, @tims_urban_bees , to hang one of my pieces in the music studio at the @greenanchorsfoundation !
Recently, life has kept me quite busy, which led me to take a little break from promoting myself as an artist and showcasing my work. However, I am excited to share that I have now successfully resolved many time-consuming matters, and my schedule is soon going to be more open.
So letās collaborate! Do you need some art hung on your walls? Iām your gal! š§”
