2021 has come to an end, and long gone are the experiences that were part of it. It was a bumpy ride, but we did it, together! Lots of snow, an apprenticeship, meeting amazing people, dancing a bunch, lots of cooking, plenty of train travelling, releasing a single, burning out, bringing people together on many dancefloors, testing the strength of my ankles, regathering with family after a long time, graduating from the school that most gave to me, a great amount of sea water and sun, going to sunny Marseille and Basel, meeting idols, getting lost in a museum, making lots of music for magnificent people, are just some of the many things that pop as I scroll through my gallery. Lots of feelings, emotions and thoughts burst through my heart, soul and mind, and I thank you all for that. This year may have sucked, but it sucked much less with you in my life. We just finished our next @octagonblues single!!! OUROBÖROS ⠀ “Chaos is merely order waiting to be deciphered” - José Saramago ⠀ Ouroböros is a short dance film that reflects on the internal conflicts between the many voices inside our heads when we put reason above emotion. Intended to raise more questions than to answer them, Ouroböros is a piece with a surreal and mysterious streak that unfolds in an imaginary world, the result of an unsettling dream. Two sides of a table, two pairs of opposing doubles, in which they affect one another as a way to escape their unknown reality. In a world deluded by dualisms, a third pair joins the table, changing the rules of the game… ⠀ Inspired on the lesser known novel by Nobel Prize winner José Saramago “The Double”, Ouroböros was born as a choreography meant to explore the clash between memories and dreams, and how it could ultimately result in a double identity. Due to the global pandemic of 2020, it was adapted and idealised for film, and with it, the idea of exploring the three states of consciousness formulated by Sigmund Freud was brought to light.
