HOPE
Medium: Salt, Brass, Acrylic, Flax
Size: 25 x 25 x 35cm
The work attempts to deconstruct the physical properties of the wooden boat and the ice under the universal concept, and instead uses brass rods and various sizes of salt to reproduce Frank Hurley‘s “The Returning Sun”, and records the details of the installation through photography after it has been made, and at the same time, attempts to reproduce the composition at the same angle as the original work, and prints and enlarges the composition into the installation was made and the details of the installation were documented through photography. We can’t fight against nature, the ocean‘s huge power can make our efforts futile, but our record of its history is also an attempt to fight against it. I named the series ’HOPE‘, hoping that in the man-made world, human beings can try to turn the tide.

I tried to explore the tension between the thread and explain the conservation in geometry by making the sense of a perceptual sculpture.
Also thanks to the friends who helped me a lot! Really appreciate for your generous assistance🤩

Shot Bo Yuyan’s jewellery @boyuyanjewellery grad project last year.
This lovely pocket ended up on the back cover of the UAL BA Jewellery Design booklet… I’ll take that as a cover 😎💖

TIME IS OVER
paper, frame, video
Dimension: 00:14 4k
By writing Time is over continuously, the film uses a mechanical device to express the annoyance and helplessness that time is coming to an end, but not ending. As the author scribbles more and more, each sentence written is the end of the current sentence and the beginning of the next. Words end, but time does not; time only leaves traces between words.
