Five ways to boost your mental health with Shahck Out Thursday! 🌟
This Mental Health Awareness Week we’re taking action to support good mental health. Even small actions can help us feel hopeful and less powerless. And while our individual actions matter, when we come together we are even more powerful 🩵

“It's normalised to do ‘get ready with me’ videos or dances, but it's not normalised to talk about mental health.”
Young people deserve spaces where their mental health is supported and they can build community, explore their creativity, and find their voice.
We spoke with one of the young dance members at RJC Dance about Shahck Out Speak Out, mental health stigma and their experience of the wellbeing workshops delivered by Youth In Mind.
Mental Health Awareness Week (11-17 May) is all about taking action. Alice* has bravely shared her story and in doing so, is taking a stand against the mental health stigma that we still see so much of. The more we talk, the more we change we make.

Affirmations are positive, present-tense statements repeated regularly to challenge negative thoughts, build self-esteem and foster a positive mindset.
Thanks to our Shahck Out Saturday members who share some of their favourite affirmations to stay positive and mentally strong 💪🏾

Youth Theatre trip to see Planet Omar at the Leeds Playhouse 🚀 📕
Last week, our Youth Theatre had the exciting opportunity to see Planet Omar @leedsplayhouse . It was such a fantastic experience!
From start to finish, our young people were completely engaged and loved seeing the characters' stories unfold. 🌟
Opportunities like this are an important part of what we do at RJC Dance, giving our young people the chance to experience live theatre, spark creativity and build lasting memories together.
Curiosity, creativity and new opportunities for RJCD Junior Ambassador Sienna ✨
Sienna recently visited the University of Leeds Brotherton Gallery as part of an RJC Dance Arts Award trip, where she enjoyed an inspiring morning of discovery. Read her reflections on our blog via LinkinBio 👆🏾
