Over the weekend I got to experience one of the single most eye opening shows of my entire career as a bass player.
Solo bass night @reggieslive hosted by @tslice.shreds and sponsered by @thebassspot and @notreble featured one of my heroes and one of the heroes of many bass players @michael_manring who played a set that blew my brain open and made me remember why I started playing this glorious instrument. I even had the opportunity to show off my sick @fmguitarsofficial bass for them which they loved.
@vinnykabat opened the night beautifully and It was cool to meet and talk with you!
Tim- You throw one hell of a show and I'm looking forward to more. You also played one hell of a set yourself 💜

4 years ago, my playing had plateued hard as fuck. I felt like I wasn't getting any better in the ways I wanted to. I wanted to become an otherworldly shredder who could comfortably pioneer new bass guitar techniques, then I discovered this guy, John Ferrara on IG playing the bass in a way I had never heard before, but sounded similar to the ways I was really interested in learning to play. I knew he needed to be my teacher, and I'm grateful I approached him on DMs
I've ascended to another echelon of playing,and I can feel it. That's why I'm recording stuff again now.
Getting to see your solo work live that night while you opened for our hero was one of the most eye opening experiences of my career.
I'll never forget this one!
