The River City Sting left everything on the turf for our @americanwomensfootballleague season opener against the RVA Lady Tomahawks. While we didn't bring home the 'W', the scoreboard only tells half the story.
We saw some absolutely incredible breakout performances from our squad, keeping the energy high and the game fiercely competitive until the final whistle. đȘđ„ The grit is there, the hunger is real, and this was only the beginning of what we built this season.

This past weekend, the River City Sting Women's Tackle Football Team traveled from Richmond, VA to Townsend, MA to play against the New England Rebellion. We ended up with the W during Mother's Day weekend! Some of the moms on our team even took a couple photos to celebrate this moment. Although we were traveling back home on Mother's Day, we hope all the moms out there also had an enjoyable and celebratory weekend. Sending you all lots of love and admiration; thank you for being our SHEroes!
We greatly appreciate the hospitality and professionalism of the Rebellion team as well. We had so much fun during and after the game; it was truly a pleasure. That's what football is all about and we're so glad both of our teams got to share that moment together. We also wish them well throughout the remainder of the season.

This past Saturday, the River City Sting Women's Tackle Football Team in Richmond, VA competed against the DMV Queens. A storm came over the area, so it was a very wet game and a rain delay was also initiated. But we were able to pull off the hard-fought win in the end. We appreciate everyone who traveled to the game and stood strong in the cold rain, too.

That last game definitely challenged us in more ways than one. But that doesn't mean we won't overcome our obstacles-- the Sting always perseveres. And with that being said, we have another chance for redemption.
