This has been such a surreal experience. I can’t even put it into words. I’ve been thinking of doing a masters for a few years now but was scared to let myself go and really explore my inner self. This piece of work is truly an embodiment of me and hopefully when you guys see if you feel and warmth and serenity that I try to express in all my sets. Just a likkle year wrap up. I think it’s my 5th or 6th series Art direction at later with Jools Holland. 🥹 Thank you to @kidculski for always bringing me into the fold every series. Every episode is always filled with amazing guest and I’m so lucky to be apart of an amazing team. Shout to all the crew members part of the Jools Holland show. There’s so many of us and we’re all one amazing family. Huge shout out to the Runners,production team and the girls that do BTS for Jools. The stories I’ve told them 😭 🙂‍↕️. When I was 18 I always promised myself that before I turn 30 I want to do a Masters in something that I love. And to have the freedom to create again. I was just as shocked that I got into the @rcaceramicsandglass but also thankful cause creative burnout really strips away the creative essence of someone. I’m so thankful that I took a year out(kinda ish 🤧) to really just focus of my own craft and how I want to world to see me via my art. If you didn’t know I wouldn’t be a set designer if it wasn’t for @_tyreis_ and she forwarded me my first set design job straight out of uni. And look at us now graduation from the same schools with our Masters and both of our works currently being in the @vamuseum an honorary member of C&G.😂 Martha,Frankie,Sophie,Dani,Anna,Grant,Lily,Nicoletta,Vivi, Miyuki, Emma G, Emma S, Gemma, Yeonju and my scare partner Daniel. You guys made my time here the most chaotic, funniest and enjoyable memory orb ever. Thank you for listening to my rants and gossip a cause so had a blast. Same to rest of the cohort but these guys have seen me cry so yeah. Shout out to @rcablk for always creating a loving community though out the campuses. Xavier, Favour and Demi you guys have w really shown me how to move though the world as a black creative and I’m so thankful for that. And now to the amazing support system behind me. Milk Honey Bees x tnoa. As part of Milk Honey Bees new four-month initiative dedicated to the education, well-being, creativity and empowerment of black girls aged 5-18 🐝 @ritz_da_builder and @the.natashao delivered a floral workshop for daughters and mums teaching them how to design their own bunch together and set prompts for love letters to be written to each other.
