Half frames of Georgia with my brother. I like the suprise of not really knowing which photos might be paired together and fun a couple of months on to get them developed and remember such a precious trip. The last photo is my favourite because of the piles of herbs and the woman lost in her phone but the cat sees everything.
An excellent holiday to Georgia with my brother (thanks Sean). š¬šŖ
Tusheti, Tbilisi, Gori, mountains, hikes, brown bear on a remote path, wildflowers, khinkali, wild taxis, potato selling (always everything being sold everywhere), old coca-cola factory canteen, shoti bread, ropeway, so dusty, colours, trains with agricultural allowances (2 bags of produce for 1-350km), pro-EU graffiti, complex politics, sulphur baths, wine and street dogs.
For ages Iāve wanted to swim at one of the spots outside Dublin, and today I went to Forty Foot, and swam off the famous steps. The sun came out, the ferry went by in the distance, a seal was bobbing about in the water and as if it couldnāt get any better I started chatting to a woman while we were getting dressed. In 1974 (50 years ago!) sheād marched down the steps with other women, some with placards, to the then āGentlemens Bathing Placeā to claim their right to swim, which they did and she has done ever since. Itās always good to chat, itās magic to hear peopleās stories.
Also the green train to get there is really cool.

Summer holidays hiking in the Tatra Mountains, walking along the Polish-Slovakian border, fuelled by Pierogi, spotting new animals- the Chamois, with excellent travelling friends and some great train journeying from London-Krakow.
And a few more of Connemara, one of the most beautiful places in the world, surely!
The twelve bens/pins at sunset while driving over the bog road to Roundstone
Just me, a statue of St Patrick and some sheep up MĆ”m Ćan
A postcard of Patrick Pearseās holiday cottage
Gurteen Beach, then the rainbow appeared and it was perfect swimming time
A January holiday over rough seas to Ireland. Tramore to Cobh, through Clare to Connemara. Visiting aunts and roaming.
Everything is slower and quieter in the winter. I didnāt once sit and have a pint alone, from artists, to plasterers, horse breeders, gardeners, musicians, landlords & landladys and family! I love listening to people stories.
Sitting by the fire learning about a master of the Uilleann pipes Willie Clancy and then by chance visiting his hometown in Miltown Malbay
Listening in to a meeting of a pop up Gaeltacht group in Crokes bar Tramore
Learning the āThe Holy Groundā (of the song!) is nexts to my aunts house after she told me of women getting on the ships!
The cliffs of Kilkee and a Holy Well (which included an offering of a pink croc)
The unmanned Museum of Irish Rural Life
š“ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó æ for the weekend celebrating our big birthday year all-round! With special guest Storm Isha.
We managed to pry ourselves away from the jigsaw puzzle and fire for at least a few minutes of bad navigation and viewing special stones (last photo).
Tasmania would be my favourite place in the world if Iād never been to Ireland. The magic in the soil is mirrored in both places.
Hiking mountains weighed down by snacks, discovering a disco in a pub after I booked the hotel for the wrong month, saunas, platypus, games of pool, black cockatoos, sea swims aplenty, Queenstown possums pretty much getting into bed with us and the empty roads and endless views šļø.
If you wonāt come and live in London with me Ruth, I guess this is the second best outcome (thank you, we love you always, and especially for this trip).
I met Hannah picking herbs on a mountain in Tasmania. She picked a leech off my back one day working in the field, thatās when I knew weād be really good friends.
These photos are from a visit to her in Nantes this Spring. She is a tour guide of the highest standard, her itineraries by bike take see us weave through the city to find the best croissant, trampolines on the moon, French bands in small bars, oysters, stamps for postcards, trop cool autocollants⦠and thatās just the first hour.
And most importantly she is a breakfast specialist (included in her repertoire is a fanzine on the subject). š
Dingle and Dublin.
When the beauty of the west coast of Ireland is filled with so much music, itās even more magic- if thatās possible.
Kindly welcomed by the wonderful team of @othervoiceslive to see some favourite artists and discover so many new.
Shoutout to my music watching pal @thief_thief who also turns out to be a great photographer and chauffeur.
Iron levels kept high with Guinness.
