FINISHED! #legacy wall #Miami
@wynwoodwallsofficial@goldmanglobal
On my first Art Basel trip years ago, I met Tony Goldman right here in this exact spot. Full circle moment. 🙏
Huge thank you to @goldmanglobalarts — over the last 15 years we’ve done it all together: painted walls, exhibited consistently, solo shows, special projects, Super Bowl, and so much more. And this year… I’m painting a legacy wall. I couldn’t be more honored or proud to be included in the legacy program with my friends and heroes 👊💙 @futuradosmil@obeygiant@kennyscharf@ronenglish #goodtimes
So this happened last week…Thank you to the @national_mural_awards !!!
I had this well-thought-out speech ready—and I totally choked! The moment I got on stage, everything hit me at once. Especially when I looked down and saw my family in the crowd. That was wild.
43 years ago, I was sneaking out at night to paint. Fast forward to now, and I’ve got four amazing daughters and a baby boy—all of whom have grown up with me painting. Sometimes in the most random places, at the most unexpected times. Now I’m traveling the world with them, still painting in wild places—and here I was, receiving a lifetime achievement award, with my baby boy watching. That moment meant everything.
This one was especially meaningful. I’ve been lucky to receive a lot of recognition over the years for my graffiti and art, but never specifically for my murals. These murals were a big departure from my graffiti and gallery work. They’re color field paintings designed to evoke emotion.
One of the best feelings I’ve ever had was driving down the freeway the day after painting a piece on one of the sound walls—just to see if the color alone, without letters or characters, could make someone feel something. That’s how these murals started: pure graffiti palettes with emotion as the focus.
Since then, I’ve taken this work around the world, incorporating color palettes that reflect each region I’ve visited. I love these murals. They’re deeply personal—connected to my journey and experiences.
When I first started doing them, not everyone got it. They were too far from what people expected from my graffiti or gallery work. But being recognized for them now? That feels incredibly satisfying.
#buildandtheywillcome #keeponkeepinon #blessed #humbled #proud #thankful👊🙏💙
On view now.

It didn’t start at this scale. Graffiti was built to move, to exist in fragments across trains and walls, where the name carried everything.
Over time, that language expanded. Surfaces got larger, color took on more space, and the work began to shift from something you read to something you experienced.
By the time it reached an entire building, the approach had changed completely. What was once a piece on a wall became something that could redefine the structure itself.
TBT…That one time I was knighted! …. people often ask if I ever expected to be in galleries or museums etc. That’s an easy one! Yes, many of us dedicated our lives to this art form and completely expected to one day show in galleries or possibly museums. But did I ever expect to be knighted by the Medici family in a church designed by Michael Angelo with his studio attached?! (And be the first person to paint in his studio in four hundred years!) F*#! No!
