A tent is never just a tent. For a designer, it’s a blank canvas with infinite possibility. Across the world, we’ve seen them transform into everything from breezy seaside lounges to grand, architectural statements that rival permanent structures. It’s not about covering a space, it’s about creating one. The pitch, the drape, the framework? It all sets the tone before a single flower is placed. Then comes the layering: textiles, lighting, flooring, and florals working together to shift the atmosphere entirely. A well-designed tent doesn’t feel temporary. It feels intentional, transportive, and fully immersive...like it was always meant to exist exactly where it stands! A year before the wedding, we stood on this property with @eastonevents and noticed a single tree that would become the anchor for the entire ceremony design. 🌳 What was then a patch of buckwheat and mostly mud would later bloom into a field of white flowers. With a bit of patience, mother nature, and good karma on our side, the buckwheat returned in perfect alignment. When it blooms, it only lasts for about two weeks, so everything had to be timed just right! ⏱️ The goal was always to create something within the landscape, not over it. To build while still protecting the natural environment that made the setting so special in the first place. No stable has ever smelled so good. 🐴 When @rishithedesigner first walked into this stable, he was blown away by the beauty of the barrel ceilings. Because of that, we chose not to compete with the space, but to design in a way that highlighted it. A 150-foot table emphasized the room’s linear length, while intermittent floral arches echoed the curve of the ceiling, allowing the architecture to still shine through. Fun fact: the linen for this table was a single, seamless piece across the top, hand-stitched, with seams only along the sides, crafted in Chicago and hand-delivered to New York. It featured pleats every four feet and piped edges for a tailored finish. Not to mention the custom saddle chairs, which were a moment all on their own. 🪑 Planning: @marcyblum Dinner Menu: @chefjgv Decor: @rishithedesigner @svarincreative Photos: @allanzepedaphoto

The inspiration for this reception was born from neoclassic art and architecture. Together, we translated this into a scavenger hunt for the eyes. Can you spot the details? 🎨 A hand-painted stage backdrop 🍒 An overflowing cherry-filled bird feeder 🪩 A dance floor that resembled a hand knit Bulgarian rug 🌿 Grassy seating dividers to make guests feel as if they were dining in an enchanted garden 🤍 Custom taffeta & velvet fabric treatments Design: @rishithedesigner @svarincreative Planning: @jzevents Catering: @majorfoodevents @majorfoodgroup Staffing: @olivierchengcatering Photography: @jamesandschulze Detail & Decor Photographer: @erickelley Lighting, Av, Sound: @seehearpro Tent: @skylinetentcompany Entertainment: @alrmusic

A colorful ceremony in the round. 💚 This bride said “I do” in her childhood backyard, beneath the oak tree she climbed as a young girl. 🌳 Decades of memories embedded in every root, and with the help of Mother Nature and a burst of June florals, the space transformed into the most joyful celebration.🌷 Planning: @jzevents Design: @rishithedesigner @svarincreative Photography: @jamesandschulze @erickelley

Mirror, mirror on the wall...🪞 The design centered around chic archways, with custom-built screens seamlessly integrated and cleverly concealed within them. Each arch underwent a meticulous six-layer finish to achieve a surface that felt solid and architectural, more like carved wood than foam. The result? A two-way mirror system that, when off, read as a seamless reflective surface, and when activated, transformed on-screen moments into mirrored reflections of the arches. Candles looked completely real in person and blooms seemed to emerge from the mirrors, diffused through the glass to soften the visuals and avoid the harshness screens can often bring. All without revealing any negative space in the graphics. Planning: @designereventchicago Photo: @kentdrakephoto Design: @rishithedesigner @svarincreative Videography: @charliehilbrant

A canopy of thousands of orchids floated above the aisle. 🤍 Inspired by a sleek, classic, and refined neutral palette, we suspended blossoms from the ceiling so they cascaded gracefully down toward the aisle, creating a seamless connection from floor to ceiling. The basis of our design vision? Repeated archways. One behind the aisle, four behind the stage, with the fifth revealed for the wedding. The chuppah was reimagined as a layered, stacked-molding structure, adding architectural elegance that perfectly complemented the client’s vision. It started, as these things often do, with a pivot. A historic property and a weather plan that asked us to rethink everything. ☔️ A tent became the answer, but not just any tent. It had to be strategically placed, tucked between existing trees, shrubbery, and centuries-old walls. 🌳 A narrow footprint, chosen not for ease, but for where it could quietly belong. Instead of competing with the surroundings, we let them lead. The design leaned into the couple’s love of neutrals and whites, soft, tonal, and understated, allowing the architecture and landscape to hold the spotlight. 👀 A true slice of Spain revealed itself in the distance: water glistening, palm trees swaying, boats drifting by. 🇪🇸We framed the reception to capture it all, while still preserving a sense of intimacy that felt personal and close. A reception shaped not by excess, but by intention. A study in working with, not against. ✨ Planning & Production @michellerago Design @rishithedesigner @svarincreative Photography @gregfinck Videography @lerevefilms Styling @carrielauren @clgcreative Papery @tpddesignhouse

We never try to compete with a spectacular view, especially one as breathtaking as La Fortaleza. Perched above the Bay of Pollensa, the property was built in 1628 as a defense against pirates, its history woven into every stone. 🏴‍☠️ With a rich history and architecture this grand, we designed to let the existing beauty shine. Enter 14-foot towering topiaries that created a sense of presence without overwhelming it. The pool, covered but visually intact, was left exposed at the edges so it felt untouched, almost as if the design floated gently on top. 🌼 Slim troughs of water ran between guest seating, quietly reinforcing that illusion. The bride gravitated toward soft flourishes and intricate patterns, which we brought to life across the water’s surface using white hydrangea. 🌊Each element was carefully constructed and suspended on top of the water, allowing the pattern to stretch the full length of the pool. Every decision came back to restraint. No covered arches, no competing installations, just thoughtful additions that lived in harmony with the setting. Proof that sometimes, the most impactful approach is knowing when to do less. A look back at the first time lighting was directly inset into the ceiling, and it completely shifted the feel of the space. 💡 From the beginning, we knew we didn’t want fixtures competing with the room. The architecture, the atmosphere, the people…they were always meant to take center stage. But getting there took some rethinking. When white fixtures weren’t available in time, and with moving lights reaching nearly 24 inches, we had to get creative. Each fixture was vinyl-wrapped, and we designed custom lighting troughs built right into the ceiling. Structured boxes were installed and lined with the tent fabric, allowing the light to softly graze downward. Resulting in something diffused, intentional, and quiet. The more technical, less-beautiful elements were tucked away into hidden coves, leaving only a seamless glow behind. ✨What reads as simple was anything but, and that’s kind of the point! Sometimes, all it takes is one small detail to unlock an entire vision. In this case, it was a jewelry box: velvet-lined, timeworn, and a precious keeper of beloved jewels. 💎 Its texture and warmth inspired a space that felt like a cocoon. We knew it was the perfect place to begin. Reimagined into an inlaid burled wood dance floor, it anchored the room and served as the centerpiece for the couple’s greatest treasure… their people. ♥️ Planning: @jzevents Design & Decor: @rishithedesigner Photography: @imryanray Entertainment: @alrmusic Venue: @montagepalmettobluff Tent: @skylinetentcompany Production, Lighting, AV: @seehearpro Tabletop: @maisondecarine Linens: @nuagedesignsinc
